Her tough as nails persona was complimented by the signature stone cold stare she gave! ;D Funny thing is, the stony glare makes you melt.... what? Only me? I miss the consistency that came with Alex, not at the fault of the characters, but the writers. For some reason, they let Alex make consistent decisions. When she messed up, it seemed like something Alex would do. When she went after big shots, it's because they were culpable. With Casey, she always seemed to make decisions that were more shaped by the ratings than her personality. She threatened to subpeona Donald Rumsfeld, and while it got a chuckle and a mantra for Casey lovers, it really wasn't necessary. I hope they're a bit more consistent with the new ADA.

TruBlu, you're not the only one that melted, trust me ;D I agree that Alex was always consistent. But I found that her consistency was in fact left in her wake, not in the sense that Casey was consistent-in all honesty, she wasn't- but in the sense that I always had that little voice telling me that Alex would have handled that better. Maybe I'm just the crazy one that hears all the voices. And no matter if this Grayleck woman is consistent or not, she's going to have a lot of grief coming her way because she's the woman who's replacing the woman who replaced Alex. I know it sounds cold, but that's essentially what she is. Why oh why couldn't Dick Wolf set his pride to the sidelines and give us what we want? Oh yeah, because he pretty much owns my soul.

I completely agree. Alex was just amazing because she stuck to her decisions and ultimately did what she thought was right. Sure Casey was amazing too, and I loved her just as much (OK well maybe a little bit less!) but I think that the show took a different path the first time they changed the ADA.
Where's the consistency???

Where's the consistency??? I believe the answer you're looking for is In Witness Protection with Alex. I mean the real, SVU, Ice Queen Alex. Not that Conviction knock off of our Alex. But the real, genuine, hard ass, I'm-going-to-nail-your-ass-to-the-wall Alex. I have to admit, however, that Conviction Alex was really hot, IMO. Her hair was longer and framed her face better.... Let's just say I paused Conviction when it was a frame of just Alex's face many a time.

I like Alex because next to Olivia, she's the toughest girl. She isn't afraid to fight for what she believes in, even though she's aware of the consequences. (need I mention her assassination?) She's got a quiet strength and determination that inspires me to be a better person.
Plus... who can resist those beautiful eyes, glasses or not?
