Well said Terry. Sometimes the less said about the character's private life the better. It should be the backdrop to the show not the main emphasis.

I know, Patti, but I felt that Dick Wolf had that under control for a little while. E.g in season two, there was a scene from the epsiode where Olivia's mother died, where she found her father and met him. It was deleted, though. if it had aired, I think it would have changed a lot of things for the show.

In addition to the scene with Olivia's father in TAKEN there is also a scene where Olivia & Elliot attend Serena's funeral and Olivia slaps one of Serena's former drinking friends after a not so friendly verbal confrontation. One of the deleted scenes from SCOURGE is at the end when Elliot and Olivia are promoted after solving the case. Worst Season? Since I came on SVU late in the game (FAULT was the first episode I saw in its entirety, if you can believe!) I can't pick a bad season. After hearing all your views though, I can see where you are all coming from. If I had seen the show from the beginning I might feel the same way.

Ah, the slap-scene, since it wasn't aired I thought it was funny, but if it had been aired, I think I'd just be pissed. ;D

I don't have any of the seasons on DVD. I have the season 1-6 on VHS that I taped from the TV as the episodes aired that is it. Then I have Screwed and Venon on VHS also. I guess I am just too cheap to get the DVD's when I have them all on tape.

I got a DVD player from my son and his wife and kids 2 years ago for Christmas but I still have most of the stuff I saved on VHS. I guess I need to join the 21st century.

I think season 7 was pretty bad- there were forgetable episodes in there. Season 8 was a lot better, I dunno, maybe it's because Elliot and Kathy reunited somewhat and there were quite a lot of times that Elliot showed off his chest. Can't go wrong there! In season 7, I did like Ripped, Demons, I mean not ALL episodes there was bad and I did get the DVD. But once Elliot and Olivia got that needy attachment feeling from Fault it just went downhill. Actually I think it went downhill in season 6 starting from when Kathy and Elliot separated.

Wow. I completely forgot that I posted here back in 08. Sorry it took so long but 3 years later I will give you my retort. Adam Beach was not a strong character to begin with so I never really cared whether he stayed or went. As for Diane Neal, I have never liked her since she joined the show. The game plan from day one seemed to be to make her character into a poor mans Alex Cabot. Stephanie March actually brought something to the character, intelligence. Diane Neal/Casey Novak was horribly overacted trying to make her look like a crusader. I am glad that she is gone. I hope she never returns. Plus she publicly blasted the show when she was released. Forget her!

Plus she publicly blasted the show when she was released. Forget her! It was rumored that she was fired. It's basically a she said/they said. And who knows if any of it is true. You can't really believe what you see/read/hear in the news. As for the worst seasons...I can't say that there are is a 'worst' season. Just not what we're used to. I think each season had at least one standout episode in 'em. And I've seen it from begining to present. I also have all the season DVD's (with the exception of the current one. I'm getting season 12 once it comes out).
