Any significance? — Leslie, Saratoga, N.Y.I've noticed Benson sporting a new necklace on Law & Order: SVU. Any significance? — Leslie, Saratoga, N.Y.Plenty! The origin of the necklace — showcasing a Semper Fi Marine medallion (alongside two pendants representing Mariska Hargitay's Joyful Heart Foundation) — was explained in a scene cut from the October 12 episode. Olivia opens an envelope from ex-partner Elliot Stabler, which contains the medallion and a mini badge with Stabler's badge number on it (the badge is now clipped to her gun). Why the edit? "We'd already seen Olivia break down and be off her game. How long can your protagonist moon over a coworker?" says exec producer Warren Leight. Later this season, Olivia will likely receive a visit from half brother Simon (Michael Weston), not seen on the series since 2007.

Olivia doesn't have to break down at every single moment. The show isn't in real time so it could have happened month's later. It would have been interesting to see her reaction though - sorta like a 'I miss him but I've moved on' kinda thing.

Apparently Warren Leight has had a change of heart. He tweeted that he would post the scene on Friday. I will post it here.

Mike Tyson on SVU?! I never thought I'd see the day! www.deadline.com/2013/01/mike-tyson-to-play-convicted-murderer-on-law-order-svu/Mike Tyson To Play Convicted Murderer On ‘Law & Order: SVU’By NELLIE ANDREEVA | Thursday January 10, 2013 EXCLUSIVE: In his TV acting debut, former boxer Mike Tyson is going for some dark, dramatic stuff with a guest starring role on NBC’s Law & Order: SVU. He will play Reggie Rhodes, a murderer on death row whose violent actions may in part be the byproduct of a horrible childhood. His case attracts the attention of Benson (Mariska Hargitay) and defense attorney Bayard Ellis (recurring guest star Andre Braugher) during an SVU investigation. Also guest starring in the episode is Ed Asner as someone connected to the investigation. While he has played himself on a couple of TV comedies, including Who’s The Boss, Entourage and Breaking In as well as on the big screen in The Hangover franchise, this marks the first major acting gig for ICM Partners-repped Tyson. Veteran crime drama Law & Order: SVU, which is coming off hitting a season high last night, is executive produced by creator Dick Wolf, Warren Leight, Julie Martin, Michael Smith and Peter Jankowski. www.tvguide.com/News/SVU-Nia-Vardalos-Harold-Perrineau-1058433.aspxScoop: SVU Books Nia Vardalos and Lost's Harold Perrineau, Marcia Gay Harden to ReturnJan. 2nd, 2012 by Kate Stanhope Law & Order: SVU has snagged a big guest star — more specifically, My Big Fat Greek Wedding star Nia Vardalos, TVGuide.com has learned. The Oscar nominee will appear in an upcoming episode as Counselor Minonna Efron, whose client is on trial for assault and murder. D.A. Barba (Raul Esparza) thinks the case is an easy win because he sees her disorganized manner as incompetence. However, his case begins to fall apart when she thwarts his efforts repeatedly. Vardalos'episode is set to air on Jan. 30 and will also feature The Young and the Restless star Victoria Rowell and a cameo by The Howard Stern Show's Fred Norris. The NBC procedural has also booked Lost alum Harold Perrineau to play a career criminal named Brian Traymor. In the episode, featuring the return of Oscar winner Marcia Gay Harden as FBI Agent Dana Lewis, Traymor is the prime suspect in a rape-murder case tied to several more investigations in the country. Lewis thinks Traymor is guilty, but Det. Benson (Mariska Hargitay) is more uncertain. The Shield's Jay Karnes also appears in the episode, airing Feb. 6, as a friend of Agent Lewis and the fiancé of one of the victims. Vardalos most recently guest-starred on Grey's Anatomy last season. Perrineau recently recurred on Sons of Anarchy and currently stars on TBS' Wedding Band. Feb.14th, 2013 by Matt Webb Mitovich Got any SVU scoop to share? –ZoeIt was only a matter of time before the last summer’s “legitimate rape” brouhaha had its headline ripped by Law & Order: SVU.According to sources, Dick Wolf’s venerable procedural is currently in production on an episode inspired by last summer’s political firestorm, with a few minor tweaks (like, this time there’s a felony crime involved). Should be interesting to hear Benson’s particular POV on this one.

www.tvguide.com/News/Pablo-Schreiber-Beast-Law-Order-SVU-1073928.aspxExclusive: Pablo Schreiber's "Beast" Returns to Law & Order: SVU Nov 26, 2013 09:20 AM ET by Ileane Rudolph It looks like justice will finally be served to the Law & Order: Special Victims Unit serial rapist and killer known as The Beast. TV Guide Magazine has learned exclusively that William Lewis, the sadistic villain played by Pablo Schreiber, will return in the Jan. 8 episode of the NBC drama. In September's season premiere, Lewis humiliated and tortured Det. Olivia Benson (Mariska Hargitay), who eventually fought back and nearly beat him to death. "We are thrilled and terrified that Pablo Schreiber is coming back to SVU to reprise his role as psychopath William Lewis," exec producers Warren Leight and Julie Martin told TV Guide Magazine via email. "He'll again be tormenting Det. Olivia Benson. Although he's the one on trial, he turns it into hers." In "Psycho Therapist," the first episode after a six-week hiatus, Benson must once again face her greatest nightmare. Although this encounter will take place in the courtroom, expect the Beast to get inside her head. "This episode is another Benson and Lewis face-off," promises Schreiber. "The meat of the episode are the scenes between the two of them. He tries to prey on what he perceives to be her greatest weakness." Schreiber also reveals that he'll return to the Netflix hit Orange Is the New Black for a number of episodes next season as George "Pornstache" Mendez.

www.tvguide.com/News/Law-Order-SVU-Pablo-Schreiber-1074161.aspxFirst Look: Pablo Schreiber Returns to Law & Order: SVU Dec 4, 2013 by Ileane Rudolph The Beast is back — and he's still haunting Det. Olivia Benson (Mariska Hargitay). After guest starring in two of Law & Order: SVU's most gripping hours, Pablo Schreiber returns in the Jan. 8 episode as rapist and killer William Lewis, who's on trial for kidnapping Benson. "Lewis holds a huge power over Benson," Schreiber says. "And when they finally meet in the courtroom, it's the culmination of everything that's been percolating throughout the season." But don't count Lewis out just yet, says the actor. "He still has many tricks up his sleeve." Maybe, but we'll bet on our longtime favorite detective.
