Mariska Hargitay Still Not Shooting Law & Order: SVU
(Photo: WENN) Mariska Hargitay is NOT back on the set of Law & Order: SVU today, RadarOnline.com has learned exclusively.
On Wednesday, a publicist for the 45-year-old Emmy-winning actress said Mariska was admitted to a hospital in New York for a problem related to a previous collapsed lung condition.
"The show is being severely impacted by her absence," one set-sider told RadarOnline.com outside the St. Denis Parish on Van Cortlandt Park Avenue in Yonkers, N.Y., where cameras were rolling today to film a car explosion scene.
"Mariska has been written out the rest of this episode and there's the strong feeling that she'll be left out of the next episode, too."
Married actor Christopher Meloni, who plays Detective Elliot Stabler on the show, told RadarOnline.com he was trying to do everything he could to cheer her up.

thanks for the update, Erin.
i could care less about filming. i want her to get well, and if that means missing an ep or two, i can live with that.

www.people.com/people/news/category/0,,personsTax:IceT,00.html Ice-T Praises Mariska Hargitay's Strength01:32 PM EDT 03/09/2009 Originally posted 03/09/2009 01:00PM Law & Order: SVU star Ice-T was surprised to hear that his costar, Mariska Hargitay, was re-hospitalized Tuesday night after she had returned to the set so quickly – less than a month – after undergoing surgery in January for a partially collapsed lung. "When she came back last time it was like nothing ever happened. She's very resilient. This woman is a hard worker; she works 14 hours a day. I don't know what you know about episodic drama television, but it's like a movie that never ends, it's just one day," the Grammy-winning rapper and actor, 51, told PEOPLE Thursday at the VH1 Save the Music Foundation event, co-sponsored by LG Mobile Phones. On the topic of Hargitay, 45, Ice-T cited her desire to downplay any hardships she might be facing. "Mariska is the type of woman that if you walk up and say, 'How are you?' She's almost like a guy and is like, 'Yeah, yeah, I'm all right.' "It's almost as if you insult her. She doesn't want you to feel sorry for her, she's like, 'I'm on my feet.' "

Exclusive: Mariska Hargitay sidelined from 'SVU' Mar 9, 2009, 04:06 PM | by Michael Ausiello ausiellofiles.ew.com/2009/03/exclusive-maris.htmlIt appears the relapse Mariska Hargitay suffered last week was a bit more serious than first thought. A Law & Order: SVU source tells me that the love of my life Emmy winner underwent a second surgery last week related to a collapsed lung she suffered back in January. (Earlier reports said she was hospitalized for "routine tests" after experiencing "some discomfort.") And although her reps initially said production on SVU would not be affected, they're now confirming that Hargitay will in fact miss several weeks of work as she recuperates. "Mariska is recovering well and is expected to return to SVU in the next couple of weeks," her camp said in a statement. An SVU insider adds that the actress' prognosis is excellent. "She is doing great," maintains my mole. "She will recoup for a few weeks and be back better than ever." Phew. Remarkably, the SVU source says Hargitay's absence is only expected to translate into one missed episode. And in that episode, titled "Baggage," Ice-T's Fin "will step in for Mariska." Also helping fill the void will be Stephanie March, whose ex-ADA Alex Cabot begins her six-episode return engagement tomorrow night. Here's what happens now: You scroll down to the comments and join me in wishing Mariska a speedy recovery. I won't accept no for an answer.

thanks rambabe for this at least she'll be able to be back and recovered after a few weeks and she'll only miss one episode, so that's a great thing. I'm so glad that Ice has stepped in for her in her abesence that's so so aweet of him.

From TV Guide Online www.tvguide.com/News/SVU-Mariska-lung-1004103.aspx No More SVU for Hargitay? Rep Slams Rumor as "Not True" * Mar 16, 2009 04:01 PM ET * by Matt Mitovich A spokesperson for Mariska Hargitay has responded to a tabloid rumor claiming that the actress, recently sidelined by a collapsed lung, will not be returning to Law & Order: SVU at all this spring. "That speculation is not true," Hargitay's rep, Gary Mantoosh, tells TVGuide.com. "Mariska is recovering well and is returning to the show this season." Mantoosh then reiterated what was reported when Hargitay re-entered the hospital on March 4: "She is only missing one episode," but will be back on screen for this season's final four installments. Hargitay was hospitalized for a third time this month for discomfort related to a pneumothorax (a collapsed lung), which she suffered in January.
