OFFICER NATE KENDALL (GUEST STAR WENTWORTH MILLER) IS CALLED IN TO HELP DETECTIVES OLIVIA BENSON (MARISKA HARGITAY) AND ELLIOT STABLER (CHRIS MELONI) SOLVE A SERIES OF RAPE CASES ALONG WITH EXECUTIVE ADA SONYA PAXTON (GUEST STAR CHRISTINE LAHTI).
Officer Nate Kendall (guest star Wentworth Miller) aids a woman in trouble and becomes roped into solving a rape case. While Detectives Elliot Stabler (Chris Meloni) and Olivia Benson (Mariska Hargitay) believe that Kendall is not right for the case due to his unstable personality, Executive ADA Sonya Paxton (guest star Christine Lahti) joins the team, bringing evidence of a common thread among three other rape cases. With Paxton’s help, the team might expose a serial rapist. Also starring: Richard Belzer (Detective John Much), Dann Florek (Captain Donald Cragen), Ice-T (Detective Odafin Tutuola), Tamara Tunie (Dr. Melinda Warner), and B.D. Wong (Dr. George Huang).

I haven't been this excited about a new season of SVU in quite awhile. This sounds really good.

I got to see it. I wasn't wowed but it was a good episode. Not a huge han of Wentworth Miller or his arrogant charachter. Very broody and moody for my taste.
Very interested in EADA Paxton. She seems to have a lot of layers to her and I'm hoping we see it peel away soon since she's only got 3 or 4 episodes. I saw that there were (very small) moments when Benson and her kinda of had that mother/daughter thing - the love/hate relationship. I'm hoping the writers do something with that as well. I'd love to see how both characters are with each other in that sort of situation.
I'm so broken hearted at not seeing Cabot. She's being thrown around like a rag doll - first she's in SVU then she was on 'conviction', then back to SVU and she's now in Appeals...what's going on? She was a kick butt SVU ADA and now she's an old rag doll no one wants.
I do feel so bad for Tate (is that his name? The guy in prison...). Although, Elliot shouldn't have jumped the gun. Now the poor guy won't ever get out.
Can't wait for the next episode. It's the 'Master Baiter' one!

I had really, really low expectations for the new season. But I have to admit, I was positively surprised. It was actually an interesting episode. I agree with JrBenson, I didn't care much for Wentworth Miller's character. Not because of his broody moodiness, but because he was seemed to have this narcissistic "the rules don't apply to me"-attitude that bugged me. As for the new EADA; she seems like some sort of pure concentration of awesome. Seriously. She rocks. I'd preferred to see Alex, of course, but Paxton was great. Almost as great as Donnelly. When it comes to Elliot, I don't know what to say. I just didn't like him. Again. Maybe I just have it out for him? In a way I just think he is so similar to Nate Kendall, he's just a tad more arrogant because he knows he plays for the good team and he knows the rules do apply to him; but it seems to me that he uses this to justify his arrogance, while Kendall just didn't care. All in all, though, I think we're off to a good start!

I also had low expectations for this season, but this was a good episode.
Cops like the one Wentworth portrayed need to be stopped. he ruined a man's chance for release from prison.
I love EADA Paxton. She was tough and that is needed because in any other police dept. anywhere in real life, Elliot would have been off the force and so would Nate.
I felt that she was saddened by the fact that Tate would remain in prison but she knew there was nothing she could do. Actions have severe consequences when it comes to the law.
I liked her taking Elliot down a peg.
Don't like Liv with long hair or Fin with short. Still not used to his hair after 2 seasons of it now. lol.
Where was Munch? I liked seeing Melinda in action again.
All in all I would give it an 8 out of 10.

As for the new EADA; she seems like some sort of pure concentration of awesome. Seriously. She rocks. I'd preferred to see Alex, of course, but Paxton was great. Almost as great as Donnelly. I can actually see Donnelly in Paxton. She's got balls that's for sure but you can see the human side to Paxton as well. Especially at the end, she knew that dispite all the new evidence and the confession, an innocent man would never see the light of day again. Absolutly! I had a friend, who's a cop, who watches the show from time to time and he does get upset when he sees some of the stuff Stabler and sometimes Benson pull. He knows that if he did a fraction of the stuff they did, he'd have been kicked off the force a long time ago. I suppose that's one reason he doesn't watch it often. I mean, if you're gonna protray real life, then make it look real. Suspensions and all. It won't surprise me to see him again on an episode, but this time on the other side of the law. And if that happens, I know for sure that Elliot will try to right the wrong the mistakes that he (and himself) made.

wow did I not reply to this one? I liked the epi. I enjoyed Wentworth's character, for what it was, I thought he did a good job at it. Sometimes we see a wrong-doing by a guest star then they med their ways, honestly wouldn't mind seeing him back. Not sure on Paxton. She seemed a little too "bitchy" but I guess we should be used to that. lol To comment on the realism on the show at times, honestly I kinda LIKE that about the show. It keeps it from becoming too real and making it what it is, TV. I like watching my true crime stuff and I like that it is based on serious situations and real life, but I also like the "TV factor of it all"

-Wentworth Miller/Nate Kendall...well I think Wentworth "overacted" as Nate Kendall so I wasn't very impressed with his work on the show. And Nate Kendall's attitude? Seen it before with other guest staring detectives, such as Victor Moran from Baggage. Likes working alone, dead (ex) wife, dead daughter, blah blah blah. A good friend of mine LOVES Westworth Miller, Prison Break was her favorite show while I know zolt about his work but I didn't really say what I am posting to her. I'm just letting her be over the moon about it because I know she really really loves him so...there you go.
-ADA Sonya Paxton/Christine Lahti- now her I did like her acting performance. Yeah Sonya was a real piece of work but I also think both Stabler and Benson needed a real good kick in the butt after the last few seasons of them pulling schenigans in the unit. Sonya did remind me about Kim's character but she's being played by a much better actress. She's like Tucker for me: I love to hate the character, great actor/actress, kudos.
The episode overall: I liked it but it's not my favorite season opener as Alternate or Trials.

Loved this episode! Think Benson and Stabler really have their chemistry back on top form this season.
