Love this eppy! Probably not a surprise to some here since I am a Kathy sucker but it wasn't just that- I really loved all the acting performances by everyone in the cast. A lot of eye openers, I'm surprised my eyeballs haven't fallen out of their sockets. It was great seeing Paxton, I really do like her character as I do with Tucker (who'll be on next week), they are the two characters that I love and love to hate! Although I wouldn't have minded to see a scene between Paxton and Stabler just for ol' times sake. What is up with Dickie??? Last episode he was in, which was Lunacy a year ago, he and Elliot were buddy-buddy, pals and now in the beginning of the episode it was like he was PMSing in a bad way. I would have expected that kind of attitude like the second scene he was in but not in the beginning. Then again I had scratched my head like this when Kathy left Elliot in season 6 after her last appearance in season 5's Home where they were happy. I know it had been a year and lots of things can happen but still...what the hell? How about giving out a little warning here and there so it can build up rather then a surprise pie in the face? I hope this is the end of it though, Richard (thank you God for not sticking with Dick! Guess Dickie saw the light especially being referred as Dickwad by the kid he fought with at school) vs. Elliot, the last scene to end the drama. I was a bit startled that Elliot grabbed Dickie against that wall, not surprised but a "whoa" moment. I could see that about Elliot being his father Joe and Dickie being Elliot, and I'm sure Elliot saw it too, especially the way he went back to his desk and was just shocked at himself. But it wasn't Olivia who calmed Elliot down, stopping it, it was Kathy So...where's this so-called fight that Nancy tweeted on her twitter?? I didn't see any fight between them. Maybe there was a fight but it got edited out to the floor. I did love their moments though, guess that's the upswing part about the marriage, they were more touchy, didn't blame one another or anything. But I did find it interesting that Dickie wasn't angry (or didn't seem to) at Kathy as he was at Elliot; but I'm sure he's more closer to Kathy since she's around more and as Elliot once said "you're the parent and I'm the paycheck" in one episode. Poor Cragen although he'll be in the next episode Perverted. I did love this part: Cragen: Munch you are in charge Munch: Not again! LOL! I also laughed at Elliot's facial expression when Dickie asked Olivia if she had slept with her partner. I find that humorous, so out of the park but not by much either. I think this is my favorite episode so far this season, Turmoil followed by Solitary (I love Chris's performance although the injuries after falling off the roof was lame-o), Spooked is up there too as there was Mr. Handsome, and Hammered, I did like Unstable and Sugar, Users was okay, I did like the fact that Dr. Haung was on more then he had been for the last couple of seasons. Where was Elizabeth? She and Dickie are twins and would at least have a mention or be in the beginning scene with Eli and parents or something...what's going on here? She's the Chuck Cunningham of SVU. (Chuck Cunningham, those who don't know, was the older brother of Richie and Joanie Cunningham on Happy Days who was on for the first two seasons and then disappeared for good) Oh yeah, the last scene...Chris was S.E.X.Y. wearing that grey shirt...oh I'm going to have great dreams tonight!

I must say that I agree, vehemently... but this happens to be a recurring theme in many of the episodes of SVU... where the dilemma of the moment seems to merely sprout out of nowhere. This is always confusing to me as to why TPTB decide to handle situations and plots this way, for example, like you said - the El/Kathy divorce thing. I personally was jumping for joy after the realization (no haters!) but that didn't stop my mouth from at first dropping wide open in shock. As for tonight's ep.... Needless to say, beside the annoying 'in-your-face' quality of Dickie's (or Richard's? Whatever...) outbursts, which lead to consequences... the episode, I felt, was really, really excellent. I was honestly on the edge of my seat the entire time and I feel the immense struggle (after the crapshoot that was most of last season) to want to applaud TPTB for the episodes they've been putting out so far this season. Knock on wood. I've been very impressed and have enjoyed the episodes since the beginning of this season - it makes me excited every week for the SVU on Wednesday night. The whole Alex/El/Liv fight was fascinating. We've never seen them, as I can remember, get into an argument like this, and it was indeed very interesting to watch it play out. I also really liked that we saw a lot of Fin, and some Munch... But the focus of the Dickie/Shane ordeal kept pulling me in to the storyline. Seriously, I was on the edge of my seat the entire episode! And of course, a lot of Benson/Stabler dynamic, which I love... OKAY, AND... I feel that I have to point it out... but. But. But.... was anyone else extremely surprised when Dickie was in the interrogation room with Olivia and he said something along the lines of "And what, you've never slept with you partner?!" I mean... what? I was definitely paying attention to the episode at that time, but when he said that, I had to do a double take. Like, did he just say that? Elliot had the EXACT same look on his face. I dunno... that just... shocked me to no end. Overall, this was a really good episode, I felt like. I enjoyed it and am in turn VERY excited (again) for Next week's episode! Just the preview made me squeal, haha! Wooo!

Personally, I thought this episode was awsome. By far the best 'Elliot' episode I've ever seen - at least he wasn't on a violent rampage like his usual, macho, pradictable self.
Granted some of the outbursts from Richie were a little out of left field. I wondered if under all that 'good boy' was a kid waiting to just let go - sort of rebel against all that. As Richard said, it's difficult to have friends when a parent is a cop. He dose have a point there. On the plus side, he has grown up very nicely. He does take on a lot of his father's mannerisms - pacing up and down when he's upset and the way he leaned in when he asked Olivia a question - I can totally see him following in his dad's foot steps one day. SVU: The Next Generation.
Alex Cabot was a real surprise. The old Alex would have told Paxton where to stuff it. I was shocked to see Alex speaking to Paxton let alone taking advise from her. I did feel kind of bad for her when Olivia told her she had placed a request for a new ADA. That hurt and the look on Alex's face showed - I mean, she's workd so hard to get back to her 'family' only have them not like her for trying to do the right thing.
Over all, I did like the episode. Question though: has anyone one scene Elizabeth, Richie's twins sister? Don't you think she'd be at the house too?

PS - when TPTB say 'fight' or 'conflict', don't believe 'em. They're like the weather people - the never tell the truth.

I have to say this has gotta be the best episode this season, and to me almost the whole series. I really like the episodes where they are already working on a case and we move straight to court. I loved Alex and Sonya's interaction but it wasn't the big bang conflict i thought it would be. Why did she even call on Paxton i mean she was there for what like a month and Alex had been there about 3 years before. But when Sonya said Olivia and Elliot's first duty is to each other Alex got a bit upset. But in the end Alex got the case back on track so no one should be on her back. And her being investigated by the bar was a bit unjust but oh well. I guess also this thing with Cragen having one more shot is a way for Dann to get out if he ever wants to but id hope not, then we'd have Captain Munch *shudders* I like Munch just the way he is. I really loved when Finn got slashed by the homeless guy and he drew out his gun and said "I will shoot you" that was definitely an Ice-T moment. And then when he flipped the guy in the interrogation room was awesome lol we finally get to see Finn get some fight scenes. So like i said this episode was great. But I have a feeling something in this episode if not more than one will come back to bite them in the butts.

OK, I guess I am the only one who didnt care a whole lot for this episode. I felt it was trying to cram 2 episodes into 1. The rape then Dickie and his friend. I felt it was hard to follow. There were somethings I liked. I am a huge Kathy lover so seeing her was a plus. Having had a teenage son, I know that one year it is all good and the next it is all bad. Hell till they out grow it. I loved Alex being tough on Liv/El. Kinda reminds me of season 2 where in one scene she basically told the squad in no uncertain terms that they worked for HER. She was one tough cookie in those days. I am hoping to see more of Paxton and learn how her recovery is coming along. Other than that I just had a hard time with the storyline switching between the rape case and Dickie and Shane. Poor Cragen..He needs to get his squad in line or its 3 strikes and he is out. The Munch line was funny. Obviously since my opinion is radically different than everyone else, I must rewatch this and see if it comes together better.

Question though: has anyone one scene Elizabeth, Richie's twins sister? Don't you think she'd be at the house too? I was thinking that Elizabeth had gotten the curse of the Chuck Cunningham curse (Chuck Cunningham was in Happy Days in seasons 1 and 2 as an older brother of Richie and Joanie then afterwards got forgotten) but then in Perverted Elliot mentioned Elizabeth. My only conclusion after watching the episode many times was that Richard goes to an all boy school so Elizabeth must go to another school and was probably already there while Richard was at home waiting for Shane to pick him up.

I agree- Elizabeth does need more attention. All her other siblings get more attention, mention then she does.

Maureen's pretty normal. Season 1 was basically the typical teenage phases with Elliot being a typical father realizing that his little girl was becoming a young woman.
