***I'm deleting my livejournal today so I'm posting my reviews so they won't be lost.***
Well that was absolutely not good at all.
Let me begin by saying that I do not dislike Olivia Benson. But they said they were making her go away. At least, that's what they implied.
Let's begin with the introduction.
Elliot is finally in confession talking to Preistman. Atleast he's coming back to reality...I hope.
ES:"I lost my family, my kids, my friends..."
Priestman:"Someone at work?"
ES: *subtle nod*
Have fun E/O shippers.
Now Elliot needs to go to a crime scene. During confession. How Catholic of him to go anyway, especially since there's 2 other perfectly capable detectives on the squad.
New partner: Lucius Blaine. First impression: He seems straightforward enough...Maybe too straightforward...
LB: while searching a homeless woman, finds a purse "So it just jumped up into your coat?"
I smiled...a little...but now he is all pushy and that's no fun for anyone but him. In fact, forget pushy and let's say harsh. Quite harsh to a homeless person. That's just not nice.
To the episode!:
Oh. New partner is very pushy. Very pushy. However, I do recall him saying (in reference to Stabler), "They put me with Detective Sensitive." Burnnn.
Benson's in computer crimes now...interesting...not. She's the new T. GWiNN.
Side note:
I understand that Olivia was moved because Mariska Hargitay is pregnant. However, for plot purposes, shouldn't Elliot had been moved, seeing as that is how "Fault" implied that would be the way it went. But no, I guess that just refers back to how much they messed up "Fault."
Back to the ep:
I do like how Blaine referred to the suspects as "Creep 1" and "Creep 2."
Oh look, it's Munch at 10:09! Poor guy does busywork. How sad, seeing as he's a perfectly capable detective who used to get to participate in cases.
Blaine again: (the last of his interesting quotes) "We don't need squat smartass, go stand in the mud!" As hostile as it was it made me smile. A bit.
Wow. 240 pounds. That explains why it's entitled "Fat." But there's no need to pick on the people carrying around some extra warmth. It's not like everyone's an evil killer just because they have some extra weight. Besides, isn't it usually the skinny people that attack the fat?
Okay quote from Jessica DeLay in questioning: "I get along with everyone!"
Newsflash sweetheart, no highschool student gets along with everyone. Ever. No matter what.
Oh look, Det. John Munch is back at 10:19. Annnnd he's still doing busywork. This is just sick.
As Blaine questions Miss DeLay, he's BSing all over the place. Really, all over the place. And he's going to tell Elliot that he can do whatever he wants? This is making Elliot Stabler look like an angel sent from Priestman. How long has new partner been on the job? Wait, we don't know? They never told us? Exactly. For all we know, he could've worked at Queens SVU for all of 16 weeks. As angry as he gets, El atleast knows what he's doing (some of the time now, anyway).
LB: "No wonder your partner dumped you, you screwed her, now you're tryin' to screw me!" Now, the E/O shippers are really going to take this as sexual, no questions asked. The first part anyway. They'll just assume that he's using the verb "screw" in two different ways in the same sentence. Riiiiiiiight.
Hold up. Benson has returned. She was supposed to go away...as in, last episode! Gone! Poof! Shizam! Bye-bye, no more! But she's back? No. Go away. Now.
OB: "I like that shirt." *rolls eyes* more E/O.
What's the point of this conversation? To please the E/O shippers? Or is it just because the n00b producers can't survive an episode without 60 seconds of Benson?
ES: "Thanks for dropping by." WHY??!! She ditched you, she's supposed to be gone, and she just wasted 2 minutes of your (and my) life! And where did the case go?! Urghhhh.
But don't worry El. She'll do a little more than drop by later on.
DC: "Do you know why I put you with Blaine?"
ES: "Because you started drinking again?" Burnnn.
DC: "To know what you're like to work worth." Burnnnnn.
ES: "We all know Olivia's a saint." Excuse me? What? Since when? Did Priestman make her a religous figure now too?
Episode timeline so far:
Case-->Personal-->Case. No humor.
Now, we had this in the first couple of seasons, but there was actually humor. Good, non-forced, reliable, never-gets-old, original humor. But no. Not now.
Did the n00b producers ever SEE an SVU episode before they started working? I seriously doubt it.
Rudy Bixton's (current suspect) sister: "[Jessica DeLay] stole his cap!"
HOLD UP! All of this over a hat? A hat?! A HAT?!?!
I heard someone say Jessica was kidnapped. Since when?
10:34--I spy CASEY NOVAK! SQUEE! Yet she does nothing. For less than 60 seconds. Then she goes away. Sad.
BEST QUOTE YET, EVEN OF THE SEASON:
On the phone, in response to "Turn on the TV,"
DC: "Why, did Cheney shoot someone else?"
It's 10:37, there's so much going on (in a bad way) that I don't know what case is what. That shouldn't happen.
10:38, I see Munch and I see Fin! But they're on...less than 60 seconds, doing, what else but, busywork. Sick sick sick.
Benson's back...again...go away. Now. GO!
Bixton again: "Did I kill him?" Well, you did just shoot him...
10:46, Casey's on screen. For what? I'm not sure. This case, cases, whatever, it's all a load of crap. I think. I can't tell because it's just not right at this moment. In fact, it's all wrong.
However, we do get an objection AND not just a cross examination, but an angry cross examination. Too bad it got spent on a load of crap. And we won, but it doesn't matter...
More Benson, more wasted time.
Kinda funny how Blaine and Stabler went from worst enemies to buddies. Now Blaine is going away, but knowing how they just brought Benson back, Blaine will probably return.
Last shot of the episode: The empty chair.
*giggle**snicker**heavy laughing*I almost died of laughter, it's so cheesy. So so so so funny. Hahahaha. She's not dead. She's right there.
Episode rating: 0/10. The only reason it's not in negatives is because of the Cheney quote.
Preview for next week: (today)
"The case that will Bring...her...back..."
From...across...the hall.
