That's cool. I'm thinking about maybe doing an exchange program there in a couple years. I heard that the French do NOT (as in NO) hate the Americans, as many seem to believe. Did I hear right?

Last month our school/city did an exchange progam with a city that began with a B (I forgot the name) near the center of France and near Quincy, France. They were like 18-16 and one 15 if i remember correctly...

Hey that would be cool for you! Exchange programs are always great!! You're right arandomtuesday, at least to my opinion it's a big ol'rumor... French people do NOT hate americans, I think it might have appeared this way because american and european cultures are very different. I think French people do sometimes have a hard time to understand the "american way of life". Plus many french people of my parents generation and older do not speak english very well or at all, so it's hard for them to connect! The thing that might be a bit "anti american" in France is about the food ;D LOL....a lot of frenchies do not like coca cola or burger and stuff like that. But if you go with the younger generation...teenagers to 30 years old (my age ...they all grew up with cola, tv shows (like starsky and hutch, charlie's angels, and now stargate, charmed law and order...) they are very in tune with everything american!! And my generation is really getting better with the english language! So you are very welcome here!

Hello svucrazy I think the city you're refering to might be Bourges. I don't know it myself but it's quite a well know city in France. For the moment I live in Paris but my hometown is in the south of France, less than one hour from the Spanish border.

I so knew it. I heard it from a French guy who came to talk about the exchange program in our French II class, so I believed it.

I'm sure you would have a lot of fun with an exchange, it's a nice adventure! So I hope for you that you'll have the opportunity to do so. And you'll see, europe is a weird place (in a nice way )....I have many friends from different countries that came to visit me in Paris...and one of those friends from San Francisco said to me that Paris was a small city ;D...it was funny because for us it's huge...it's our capital
