Don't worry, there is a first time for everything!
In order:
1. There are many sites out there that have clips, but I shouldn't really direct you to them since they are technically illegal... 2. It depends on what program you're using. Are you using Windows Movie Maker?

Okay, with WMM, you're going to open the program, then look over to the right panel. Under the first heading (which says "Capture Video") you're going to click "Import video". You'll then get a browse window, and so you can navigate to where your clip is stored. Then click "Import", and after a few seconds (hopefully) you'll have a video clip in the "collection" window on the right.
To use that clip in your video, click and drag the icon to the timeline. You can edit the clip from there.
To remove the sound, click "Clip" among the menu buttons at the top, then hover your mouse over "Audio", then click "mute".
You can acquire and add songs to your movie in the same way that you do the clips. I believe MP3 or WMA or WAV are the only extention types accepted. So for instance if there's a song that you bought on iTunes that you were thinking about, you're unfortunately out of luck because they're in M4P format.
