great article, rambabe. thanks for posting the link to the blog. Click on "The World Of Wonder" link. It will take you to a page titled "Celebrities At Large." There is a pic of David Keeps and an article about he and Mariska on the SVU set. Mariska says to the wardrobe mistress, "Hey, YOU" in that way that she has, "Get 'em dressed."

There is a new photo of the month for November. It's the new pic of Mariska in the opening credits. Can't post the pic due to copyright infringement. Here's the link: www.mariska.com/Ask Mariska was also updated 11/01/07 mariska.com/ask/ Ask Mariska Updated: 11/1/07 Can’t help but notice that you’ve been wearing another necklace along with your “Fearlessness” necklace. Any tips on where that one may be purchased? I love my Fearlessness necklace. It’s a lotus necklace from Me and Ro Jewelry. I think the lotus is the perfect representation of Olivia Benson. For those of you that don’t know the story of the Lotus, the lotus flower embodies pure beauty that grows from the mud. That’s how I see Olivia Benson’s soul. She is a character who’s born of a violent incident and has blossomed into a force for light and good. Do you have an ipod or iphone? Both. I am a huge fan of Apple. I got the IPhone on the first day it came out and it has been in my hands ever since. The touch screen is the best thing ever, and so easy to use! I’m not a great typist so it’s perfect for me. I should mention that I’m making Steve Jobs very happy, seeing as I’m on my third one! The first I tucked into the side of my bathingsuit when I was at a pool party and needed to take care of the little man. I forgot it was there when I jumped back in the pool. The iPhone is incredible, but not so water-friendly. The second iPhone soldier fell when I got out of the van on set at “SVU.” The third one I’m guarding with my life. What is your favorite kind of Starbucks coffee? Half regular and half decaf cappuccino. Right now I am watching “Birthright” with Abigail Breslin…who I think is so cute! What was it like working with her? Isn’t she just so adorable? So adorable is right. And one of the sweetest young ladies I’ve ever met. She is an amazing actress and was a joy to work with. The entire cast and crew was really taken with her. She is extremely talented; so professional, with an uncanny access to her emotions. I felt like I was working with a young Meryl Streep. We would be talking and laughing, telling stories between takes and the Director would call “Action,” at which point Abigail would dive back into the scene and cry on cue. She’s just extraordinary. Did everyone see her genius performance in Little Miss Sunshine? If you haven’t, go rent it or put it on your Netflix queue now! P.S., when I shot the “Got Milk?” campaign, Abigail came to visit me on the shoot because she wanted to meet baby August. How sweet is that? What would you say is your favorite candy and/or snack food? Give me any type of chocolate (dark of course!) and I’m a happy girl. Do you have time to personalize requests for autographed photos or do you just sign your name?Do you have time to personalize requests for autographed photos or do you just sign your name? Wow, I get this question a lot. I personalize every single one. I don’t use pre-prints or stamps. That’s why it takes me so long. If you haven’t gotten yours yet, I promise it’s coming. Mariska, what was your favorite production that you did at Marymount High School? What was your role? o be honest, I only did two plays because I was more of a jock in school and was very involved with student government. My first production was an English musical called “Salad Days.” I was nervous to audition, but my best friend made me do it. We auditioned together and I got one of the only parts in the show that didn’t have to sing a note. Take from that what you will! I have photos. Maybe I’ll post a few of those hilarious shots some day. Little did I know, that was the experience that put me on the path to this very day. It was the first time I felt the power of the connection that exists between a performer and her audience. I was invigorated by that electric bond. It didn’t hurt to get the full-house laughs, either. The second play I did was called “Women’s Work,” which found me plunging head-first into the world of powerful drama. Written by Joan Mason Hurley, it’s a powerful piece, ahead of its time, on the subject of abortion. The ability to engage people and make them feel deeply about challenging, emotional subjects is something I tap into every day as I bring Olivia Benson to life.

Mariska's Blog was updated 11/14/07. Guest blogger is Jenny Sweeny who is a designer. Jenny and Mariska helped create the new "XO and M" t-shirts and they collaborated on some of Jenny's stationery. Mariska’s Blog 11/14/07 Guest Blog: Jenny Sweeney Mariska invited me to write a guest blog and I couldn’t be more excited. Ahhh… a chance to express myself in a new way. How fun! Sometimes I get so bogged down by the never ending seriousness and stresses of everyday life. All I want to do is curl into a little ball and snuggle in my warm bed, read books, eat ice cream and drink tea. I forget the beautiful and silly things that make life so magical. I remember purposely making a promise to myself as a kid… “When I get older, I will never take life too seriously.” Oh my, how we seem to forget so quickly… That’s one of the many reasons I am happy to be friends with Mariska. She is a creative breath fresh air, warm, spiritual and committed to adding a little extra light to the world - whether it’s giving back through The Joyful Heart Foundation, giving back to our communities, taking care of the environment, or just sharing herself with us in our everyday lives. Now, you may be asking, “how do you know Mariska?” For the past year, we’ve collaborated on several stationery projects through my company, Jenny Sweeney Designs. Since then, we’ve joined forces to create the new, “XO, M” t-shirts, which debuted last month. The “XO, M” t-shirts feature great inspirational words and serve as a great daily reminder to stay true to you and to remember to have fun while doing it. It’s really hard to pick a favorite as each word effects people differently. All of the words “Shine,” “Blessed,” “Believe,” “Fly” and “Love” were chosen because of their ability to encourage and inspire. As a stationery designer, I am so grateful for the opportunity to express my love for paper, illustration and silliness. It’s so fun to create cards that speak to people. Whether it’s celebrating a birthday, anniversary, or holiday, it’s such a blessing to be a part of people’s lives! I’m often asked why my greeting cards are blank on the inside. The reason they are blank is because handwritten cards are truly a lost art form. There’s something so special about a handwritten note. I love a card filled with heartfelt sentiments, doodles or a big hand drawn smiley face. My next big project, the launch of our Spring 2008 stationery and greeting card collection, is themed “An Enchanted Childhood.” The cards and designs are all inspired from the innocence of that time — my magical childhood… catching butterflies, silly dance routines, endless hours of doodling on notepads, roller skating and first loves. No matter how many years pass, I never want to forget the way that time felt. I try to keep myself surrounded with things that keep me from getting too serious… razzles, 1973 Cadillac convertible, nutty people, hats with pom-poms and lots of butter cookies. As another year passes us by, it makes me realize just how wonderful life can be if you stop and reflect on the things that make you smile. This year, I encourage you to look at life through rose colored glasses. Love openly. Forgive gracefully. Laugh loudly. Wish often. And above all, inspire others to do the same. With that being said, my new friends, sharing some sweet sentiments in a hand written card isn’t such a bad idea either! Many Blessings, Jenny posted by Mariska.com 9:17pm If you order $25 of Jenny's merchandise online you will receive 2 of Mariska's favorite Jenny Sweeney Design cards free. Offer expires 12/15/07. www.jennysweeneydesigns.com/js/mariska.aspx

that slide show thing is awesome!!! Check out the new design of Mariska's website. The pic of the month now rotates the 6 images that are in the slide show. Also, if you click on mariska.com there are 3 different images that will come up. One of Mariska in one of her new t-shirts, one of Mariska holding August, and one of Mariska and August with a watering can. I can't get the pic of Mariska and August with the watering can to pop up but other people on various boards have said they kept trying and they can. So I will keep trying!!
