BWA HA HA HA HA HA HA!!!   I believe Fin did. and He also did the one about the girl who had her babysisters finger in her purse that was good too..I have no problem with them featuring 1 Det. over the other if its done in a rotating basis. That has been done over the years too. In shows that had 3 or 4 main characters. Now this is a real blast from the past but back in the 60's the Western Bonanza did that..1 week Michael Landon 1 week Pernell Roberts and 1 week Dan Blocker..I know saw their show first on Sat. night then on Sun nights.. for years..Equal time is all we are asking here :curse: :curse: :crying:

I really agree with all of you guys! The show as somehow lost its essence. I know that I'm not as far ahead in the seasons (still middle of season six) but I still think it's losing its sparkle! They forgot about "THE CASE" and its resolution by a good working team to focus on "character episodes" where one of the Detectives (generally Elliot or Olivia) or two of them E and O, have to face a terrible issue. I am a big big fan of detective Benson, but still I started to watch for the dynamic of the team, not for one character...and I'm very much persuaded that I did become a fan of Olivia because she was part of a great dynamic. I still watch the show for her of course but even she is not the same anymore. To me the Olivia I loved from the start has disappeared, she was disolved as well as the storyline and the team dynamic. I love Munch crazy sense of humor and conspiracy theories, Fin cool and gentle attitude, Warner sharpness, Casey's determination and Huang perspicacity! It's a shame we're not given the chance to enjoy them as much as before!!
I don't know what you think about it but here is a constatation I made. Apparently some very good shows (Buffy for example) have a tendency to slowly loose their initial sparkle after the 3rd or 4th season...and I think sometimes it's the side effect of their popularity. Sometimes success blow to your head and the writers loose their focus on what was indeed the good recipe that made it a great show in the beginning!!!!

I go way back to the Mothership I watched that from the pilot in 1990 every week then it began to lose its luster but it still uses the same premise it did from day1 LAW then ORDER..thats why its still on. I liked your synopsis of what happens to a show after the 3 or 4th year..its right on   . I hate to see SVU go down that road. :veryangry:

They conserved the structure of LAW then ORDER and it's why it's still appealling at least they know how to share the screen time between the cops and the lawyers! I discovered Law and Order, after SVU (I know it's strange ) and I am now more inclined to follow it with much attention (here we have many seasons of delay so we have a daily episode)! I still feel the interest in the storylines. Which is not the same anymore for SVU! And I'm with you on this "I hate to see SVU go down that road." sad indeed

I had a hard time with L&O after Jerry Orbach died and dont really watch it like I did I dont like Jesse Martin's character he is too blah compared to Noth and Benjamin Bratt ..but the reruns on TNT give me a chance to go down memory lane. Lets hope SVU regains its focus..I watch it on the USA Network nightly in reruns and get the good ones from the earlier seasons :flower:

Yes you're right somehow even through the many character changes along the years the show has survived for an astonishingly long time because it never lost the basic premise!! Here we still have episodes with Jerry Orbach and I only learned quite recently that he had died in 2004 (I think)...I was sad cause to me he is one of the pillars of the show! Right now we have many different season showing on three different channels...one being the first public channel. My favourite actors on L&O are : Jerry Orbach, S. Epatha Merkerson (she's really great ), Sam Waterston and Elisabeth Rohm (I know many prefered Jill Hennessy or Angie Harmond...but well!)

I think the reason why I like those I leasted to you better is because I don't know very well the first seasons...I think here we didn't have many episodes before season 5...at least I didn't see them...mabye they aired on cable TV! And I have just recently discovered cable TV :blush2: ....let say here we are very much behind USA...for everything...I had color TV when I was around 5 so only 25 years ago...and a VCR around the age of 16 !! So cable is quite knew for me ;D...imagine the damage :rolling:

I could understand if the guy was a serial rapist and he was going to kill the girl, but last night's episode was for Law and Order. The mothership. This is SVU or Special Victims Unit, or sex crimes. I understand they investigate child abuse, but that didn't really seem like a child abuse story. WHO WANTS TO JOIN ME IN MY GREAT CRUSADE TO SAVE THE SVU CAST FROM THEIR FATE THAT CAN BE AVOIDED?!!! :sword fight: Anyone got enough money to fly to NYC so we can take these guys on? actually Munchkin I believe that when they say "Special Victims" they also mean anything dealing with kids...I don't like it..but its what the people decided.... I'll gladly join you in your fight!!! but unfortuanatly...I don't have enough money to fly to NY..I would love to, but I only have about 12 bucks in my wallet... WAIT! I could go....but that would mean braking into my savings, I could get a ticket to NY for 75 bucks... theres this new plane thing that goes from Austin Texas straight on to NY, Isn't that sweet!! I doubt my folks will let me do it!!! I'll gladly give you my support though! And if I see a chance to go down there and tear the stuffing outa those guys I'll sieze the chance... :evil2: these guys are really making me mad!! :curse:

Well I think that the FBI would have been called in because of New York states proximity to New Jersey and Conneticut and going across State Lines can be done quickly. Yes SVU deals with child abuse but when it was found out the case wasnt pediophile related I believe it would have been handed off to another unit and the Feds. but even if I am wrong the show is off track :crying: :crying: :crying:

LOL :rotfl: :rotfl: :rotfl: :rotfl: you definitely beat me up on that !!! I didn't realize since a few minutes ago that you belonged to a slightly older generation than me ;D.... I am from France actually and here the airing of american shows is more or less "cataclysmicly non-chronological" and of course proposed on many different channels!!! We are sometimes an odd country ;D
