When Alex was pronounced "dead," and Casey just waltzed into the SVU scene, my 8/9 year old self decided that I wasn't going to watch anymore. I boycotted Casey. She annoyed me and she wasn't Alex. I honestly think, now, that Casey was a pretty good character. She wasn't completely evil and heinous like I tried to believe. I do think that if Alex was written out on a better note, and Casey came in like their going to bring the new ADA in, that I wouldn't have skipped like 4 or so years of SVU. Maybe I was being ridiculous, but you can't expect much more out of a child, can you? LOL..I gotta hand to you that you watched the show at 8/9 and were able to stay up. My oldself had a hard time staying up till 10. I agree that they could have done a better job of bringing Casey in and writing Alex out but we are dealing with Dick Wolf and he isn't noted for happy endings. Just look at the Mothership.

Oh, every ADA written out on the Mothership, how I mourn thee... I can't exactly blame those who didn't like Casey in the beginning. Alex's exit was painful, Casey's entrance was less than subtle. Had something about Casey's entrance been tweeked, something about Alex's exit been changed... might have had an entire different ballgame.

I just think that Dick Wolf could have done a better job at the transition.
He could have remedied himself by trying his hardest to bring Alex back though. That would have brought ratings through the roof. Thus impressing the important people.

I keep lamenting the loss of Conviction, because I think eventually we would have gotten some information on Alex's return from Witness Protection. Though, her character on Conviction was definitely changed from her character on SVU.

Many a daggers flew at my TV when she and Jim....were less than decent on her desk. C'mon now! Was Dick Wolf TRYING to upset all us AO fans??? I mean, Jim had Jessica falling at his feet, practically. And that Robert guy obviously wasn't that important. Jeez.

Oh yeah, the Alex/Jim thing... I was very not happy about that. I really didin't like Jim at all, actually. I'm not exactly sure why Wolf dangled a little A/O in front of us, had the old Alex return in "Ghost", just to have Alex be a completely different character in Conviction.

As far as he let on, she never made any attempt to contact anyone at SVU... and of course, a group of New York's Finest never found out that their "dead" ADA's back. And now she's sleeping with Jim and engaged to Robert, and I'm like WHOA. WHAT?
Jim overall was an ass. I didn't like him. He was arrogant and I cannot see what Jessica was so desperate to have.

Jessica and Christina, OTP FTW. I agree oowsvu, Alex and Trevor was a "wtf?" moment not just for Olivia, but for us as well. I think pretty much everyone was an "ew, no" vote for that one.

Yeah, that wasn't the best laid plan.

I like her because she tries her hardest to get justice for the victims, she is tough and brave (she tried to bring down a drug lord, which led to her exit and came out of witness protection to testify against the guy who shot her), and she knows how to read people, which makes her great at her job. She also helps keep Elliot and Olivia in line so they don't get into trouble. If they do something wrong, she isn't afraid to call them on it.

I loved her tough as nails persona.

Her tough as nails persona was complimented by the signature stone cold stare she gave! ;D
