R.I.P Michael. My thoughts are with your family at this tough time. A Musical genius forever, and the foundations for many artists today. Maybe people will finally begin to appreciate you for your talents, rather than persecute you for your failings.

ITA, it's too bad it didn't happen when he was alive which makes me so mad.

I was in shock when I turned on the news; I had just turned it on to catch up while relaxing between events, and I was shell shocked. I thoroughly enjoyed his music, and I admired him for battling the barriers that he did.

Al Sharpton was saying on CNN (We get that channel on Sky, kooky!) that people were lined up mourning him who wouldn't have gone near him before his death. It kinda makes me mad the hypocrisy that people display when someone dies. If you hated them in life, don't become their biggest fans in death. Just leave them be.

It took his death to make people realize this man's talent and what he did for the world and the music industry and that's not right at all.

Isn't it odd how we remember those we love when they die and not when they are here, alive and still with us. I find it so sad that those who have critizised Michael for one thing or another, are now praising him for his musical genius and how he did this and that. They... we should have been doing that when he was alive to hear it. The dead can't hear our words. The living can

New article: La Toya Jackson: Michael was murdered... I felt it from the startBy Caroline Graham Last updated at 9:55 AM on 12th July 2009 The grieving sister of superstar Michael Jackson last night blamed ‘a shadowy entourage’ of manipulative hangers-on for effectively ‘murdering’ the King of Pop. In a moving and revealing interview, La Toya Jackson, who was closer to her vulnerable brother than anyone else and was asked to sign his death certificate, portrayed Michael as a lonely and isolated figure at the mercy of a money-motivated clique. edit: sorry trublu, here's the link...I must've missed that rule and I'll definitely remmeber that for next time I post an article. www.dailymail.co.uk/tvshowbiz/article-1199092/La-Toya-Jackson-Michael-murdered--I-felt-start.htmladminnote: Admin Note: Please follow our rules on posting articles.

Murder? I don't know if I'd go that far. But he was surrounded by shady folks. A lot of celebs are, but I think Michael was in particular since he had a lot to lose.
I think a lot of the people that he had around him saw a very easy and vulnerable target and took advantage of him. And it's very unfortunate that all this is coming out now after he's passed.
I just wish everyone would leave him in peace.

I agree that all of the things that are coming out seem pretty shady, but I do wish that the authorities could conduct their investigation and have the media shush up about it. The one good thing that perhaps has come out of all of this attention is that we've learned that many of the things the public considered to be "exentricities", ie, the glove, the masks, his skin color, etc., were actually due to lupus, and not anything on Jackson's part that he could control. Not that his condition is any of our business, but it certainly does answer a lot of questions, whether people asked them outloud or not.

Exactly. If this were some regular Joe, we wouldn't be talking about them like this.
And I've also heard that someone released the photo of him to a magazine - in the ambulance with tubes in his mouth and all that. To me that is just really in poor taste.
I really do try not to read/listen to whatever is being said - I've never met the man or his family so it's not my place to judge or speculate. But sometimes I just hear things and it's like, "really? why are we still doing this to him?"

this reminds me of the death and exploitation of the death of Elvis. It is like dejavu all over again.

I wasn't a fan of Micheal Jackson's music, but I'm sad he died. 50 years isn't a full lifetime, and most people deserve that. I first read it on a news screen in the street, and a lot of people around me didn't even believe it. I've been flying a lot these past week, so I caught a lot of the news coverage on CNN, and I'm just a bit shocked over how much speculation several highly regared news networks has engaged themselves in. They should save some of that stuff for Barbara Walters.

There's been so much speculation about his life. People that were 'close' to him and all that are getting their bucks worth in tell all books and interviews. I mean, really, this is getting to be really disscusting. The man's dead - leave him alone. Can't they think about his children and how what they say will effect them? Where is their humanity?
BTW, nice to see ya Terry :-)
