To be honest, I never liked him. I always found him to a lot more macho/hot headed/old school/prone to violence then Elliot. Don't get me wrong, Nick is a good guy but I find myself questioning why his character is on the show. In some ways, he fills in the whole Elliot left - a married man with kids, having marital problems, brings his problems to work, brings his work problems home, etc...see a pattern here? It was the same with Elliot, but with Elliot it felt more...I guess, organic. And Elliot had a lot of reedeming features to boot. With Nick, everything feels forced. I cringe when I see him.
Is it just me? I wouldn't have mind a compleltly different character being paired with Olivia - say, a single father/mother doing her part in making NY safer for his/her kid(s), or a fresh faced rookie, or a bad ass cop that rubs Olivia the wrong way...you know, something different then the 'Elliot' types.
My two cents.
What do you all think?

Awwww I loved Nick Amaro. I felt bad for him a lot though. He had a temper that made it seem like he was always angry (I say sad) but I think he was sweet deep down. It seemed like things always went wrong for him. I don’t know. I have liked almost all the characters. Some more than others obviously. 😂🤷🏼♀️ I love the show and still watch it every time it’s on tv!
