Why is it Canada and France get all the good stuff with our boys in them?!!! I think I'll just move to France and you can move to Canada, thought NYC would suit just fine as well. Well it appears that NYC, Canada and France have cornered the market on our boys... **finaddict packs her bags and heads to the Canadian border**

Thanks to Mackidockie for posting this in SVUFN boards. Bad boy rapper Ice-T is coming to an MTV screen near you in a new reality TV series called "Ice-T's Rap School." Here's the official blurb:
It's time for a culture clash of extreme proportions as the world's most outlandish rap star gets rude and riotous with a class of posh prep school kids. The legendary Ice-T, rap star supreme, is out on a mission to educate these middle class minors on everything hip hop. His academy opens its doors to viewers on 3rd October from 10pm, only on MTV.
For the well educated 12-13 year old pupils, it's not just a slide in status they have to contend with, but a switch of location; transferring from the prestigious York Prep to Ice T's urban hood, they're soon dancing to a different beat entirely as Ice T's training schedule takes shape. Can he transform his sheltered set from microphone deficient elitists to competent and rhythmic MCs?
The pioneering music superstar is out to prove that rap's not the scary sound his posh crew perceived it to be, but an outlet for the pain, frustration and inhibitions within. With shyness, speech problems and a parental break up all amongst the issues the kids are facing, is music about to quash the demons they are fighting?
Having conquered everything from break dancing to beat boxing, Ice-T is about to present his soon to be rap rudeboys with their toughest challenge to date: opening a set for groundbreaking urban icons Public Enemy. Will the base be pumping or will the volume fade to mute? Ice-T is the hip hop headmaster as MTV's 'Ice-T's Rap School' gives a music lesson some much needed modernisation.thehollywoodnews.comNow there's an Ice you don't see everyday or Fin for that matter. When is this airing again? Isn't it in October?

I got an e-mail from VH1 that said that following the Oct. 17th. Hip Hop Awards that Ice is hosting that his new show would be introduced and then move to Friday nights. I am gonna see if this is going to be broadcast on both MTV and its sister station VH1. It would be good if it was on both as it would reach a larger audience

In addition to Ice's role on SVU and his new Reality show on VH1 and/or MTV he is touring again. He played Sat. night in Vancouver British Columbia. The following is an interview from Straight.com in Canada.

Music Previews Archives Times of turmoil bring Ice-T back to the game By sarah rowland
Publish Date: 21-Sep-2006
It’s been seven years since Ice-T put out a solo LP, nine years between releases from his metal-thrash rap group, Body Count, and nearly a decade since he made headlines by spouting off about police brutality, blowhard feminists, freedom of speech, black oppression, and everything but baristas who put too much hazelnut syrup in soy lattes. According to the original gangster, it’s not because he doesn’t have anything relevant to say. (After spending 15 minutes on the phone with the motor mouth, I can attest to that.) No, he’s been uncharacteristically closed-lipped about such hot topics as Hurricane Katrina and the war on Iraq because there simply is no shock value in an aging old-school rapper making anti-establishment statements.
“People know where I stand, so there’s no controversy no more,” says Ice-T, who is calling from L.A. “Rappers are just one big ni**er that isn’t really expected to like the government so it’s not press anymore. You’re all waiting to hear Nick Lachey say it because he’s a nonopinionated pop star so if he ever spoke up about something, it would be news.”
In the meantime, we have to settle for Kanye West to stand up to the man by spouting off on live TV about how poorly the Katrina search and rescue was handled—a stunt that didn’t blow Ice-T’s mind as much as it did that of Barbara Walters and the rest of Middle America.
“Kanye was kind of corny about the whole thing,” he says. “Everybody knows that Bush don’t care about black people.…I think what tripped people out is that Kanye comes out on-stage with a teddy bear and plays like he’s from college—I mean he’s no thug—but then he went and said that. It’s like Will Smith saying it.”
These days, the Law & Order actor gets more satisfaction from doing “stuff” than from talking “s^it”.
“I’ve learned that making statements is just that, so instead of running my mouth about Katrina, we just sent some money down there to the Red Cross,” Ice-T says. “So I’m still doing my thing; I’m just not yelling anymore.”
He’s also been busy recording. His next Ice-T album, Gangsta Rap, is due out this fall. His latest Body Count LP, Murder 4 Hire: Will Kill For Money, hit stores last month. Why did it take so long? For starters, Ice-T didn’t have any inspiration throughout most of the ’90s.
“We had Bill Clinton in office—the good old boy,” he says. “Now we got a Bush back in. Satan’s back in. The world’s in the most turmoil it’s been in since I’ve been alive, so it’s perfect Body Count weather.”
The other reason is that the ironically named one-time quintet is down three men. One by one, drummer Beatmaster V, bassist Mooseman, and guitarist D-Roc all died of unrelated causes.
So in honour of the last, Murder 4 Hire includes “D Rocs (R.I.P.)”, a tribute in which a searing D-Roc solo has been given a posthumous ProTools face-lift. And for the ladies, there’s the Ice-T–penned “Relationships”, a heartwarming love song that basically infers that we b@tches are nothing but a bunch of PMS–ing hagaritas out to drive hetero men crazy. Ahh, it’s nice to know some things never change.
Ice-T plays the Commodore on Saturday (September 23).
