So, Flannel Pajamas opened recently, so I've been finding some reviews. They mostly focus on the two main characters (one of whom is played by Julianne Nicholson) but I thought I'd post them anyway.

Heed 'Flannel Pajamas'
that might grow irritating

Imagine a Woody Allen-like Manhattan romance in which the lovestruck couple turns out to be not so meant for each other. Therein lies the irony to "Flannel Pajamas," titled to suggest such snuggly nightwear might have a scratchy side. FLANNEL PAJAMAS
$ $ $ ½
Jeff Lipsky, an independent movie distributor turned writer/director, fashions this talky but nonetheless spirited treatment that segues from screenings at the just-finished Cleveland International Film Festival into limited release starting Friday.
Lipsky mates Stuart (Jason Kirk, Showtime's "Weeds"), an effusive Jewish pitchman, and Nicole (Julianne Nicholson, TV's "Law & Order: Criminal Intent"), a Catholic girl starting much too late. Their blind date sparks a hot relationship that both needy types acknowledge as too good to be true.
It's quickly revealed to be anything but, though Lipsky, as he likely autobiographically views it, places the greater blame with Nicole's baggage-riddled family. It taints an otherwise painfully authentic film, enhanced by its lead performers, as well as Rebecca Schull, chillingly honest as Nicholson's embittered mother.

FLANNEL PAJAMAS -- ***
(R for strong sexuality, graphic nudity and language) -- Stuart (Justin Kirk) and Nicole (Julianne Nicholson) meet through mutual friends and experience a magical evening in a local diner one rainy spring night; it may never get better than this. But it does, and a stunning courtship ensues, drenching the lovers in radiance. The relationship evolves in a way that is as delicate and effortless as it is dizzying and defying. 2 hours, 4 minutes.
