It never fails. The Angels swept the Red Sox in 3 games and then lose to the Indians! Here's one for you, Finaddict!

I couldn't believe it myself, Rambabe. I don't stay up during the week for games on the west coast and I almost fainted when I read the headlines in our newspaper's sports page. ;D We have done well since the all star break but it doesn't mean anything since we imploded earlier in the season.

I will never get used to Manny in a Dodger uniform.

I know. I thought I would never get used to him in a Red Sox uniform. I am still uncertain why the Bosox traded him. Maybe Trublu will enlighten us.

It was getting to the point where, great player and all, he was a detriment to the team. His attitude toward playing and the team was extremely negative. He wanted desperately to be out of Boston, and most of Boston didn't want him here anymore. Supposedly, the clubhouse vote was 24-1, with only David Ortiz voting to have him stay (the nice guy that he is). Manny went on record right before the trading deadline saying that Boston "did this" to it's other great players, Pedro and Nomar, and that Boston didn't deserve a player like him. That was really the last straw, though he put the icing on his own cake by having his manager tell Boston execs that Manny promised to play hard if Boston kept him but dropped his options. In other words, extortion. No thank you, Manny.
I think it will take a while to get used to him in a Dodger's uniform, and he was one of the greatest Boston hitters, but it was just time.

Trublu, I heard tonight on the news that one of my faves, Paul Bryd, is coming to Boston. I loved him. He is a tough competitor and I hope he does well. Take good care of him.
OOPS..I double posted and I am combining my other post with this one. I deleted the other one if that is OK.
Previous post: Thanks, Trublu for the info. Manny is a strange one for sure. I know we loved his bat here but not his attitude.
NP, it had been a couple of days, so it's fine.

That game was horrible. I'm not sure how we managed to blow a 10-0 lead after the first inning, and then somehow win 19-16. Just crazy.
And Paul Byrd is apparently coming to fill Clay Buchholz's spot in the rotation.

The Angels still have the best record (75-44) even though they lost to the lowly Mariners last night. The Chicago Cubs are next at 73-47 followed by Tampa Bay at 72-47.

The Angels are in a bit of a slump. They can't seem to beat the Indians or the Devil Rays.

The Angels have clinched the AL West! They will probably rest a lot of their key players for the remainder of the season. Now I just have to wait and see who they will play. Right now it looks like Tampa Bay, White Sox, & Red Sox. It looks like Tampa Bay & the Red Sox will fight to the end. Tampa Bay just beat the Sox 2 out of 3 so they increased their lead. I think one of them will be the Wild Card.
