Hey guys! I would like to draw on your collective wisdom, and ask if any of you have any suggestions of what I could do to raise money.
In the summer of 2010, me and my Duke of Edinburgh Gold team are going to India to work with the community, which includes building the foundations of a new hospital and helping decorate the school. We spend 31 days in Leh, and trek for around half that time, as Leh is high in the mountains. However, to get there we have to raise £3300 each, and I could do with some suggestions for raising the money. So far we have planned a prison break, and a sponsored sky dive. Any suggestions guys?? Every idea appreciated!!

A prison break? What's that? I'm assuming it's not what I'm thinking off, lol! A sponsered skydive is an awesome idea, I'd love to sky dive! You could also try some other physical activites - wing-walking, sponsered runs, hold a kinda fete thing - they won't pull in a whole lot of money, as they ideas we come up with over here for tiny school projects, but they bring in a fair bit. I'll keep racking my brains for ya hun'! Also, awesome project! Have fun!

Thanks for the great suggestions! A prison break is when the lock you in a cell, then give you the key. At a certain time you have to open the door, and get as far as you can with no money. Last time the winner was America and Josie's team who I sponsored got to Venice!

Ah, so now I don't seem so stupid in thinking you broke out of prison! Sounds like fun, maybe I should suggest the 'game' to my brother......can't help it if I forget the key, eh?

Haha! Yeah good idea! I had the same thought with my sisters, then realised i'd have to be locked in a cell with them... Ok so the skydiving and prison break have now been confirmed.

I have no idea if this works the same as it does in America, but a lot of times we'll hold a dance and advertise all around the school-- most kids are very generous when we tell them that it's going to a good cause. Try and work with your school in other ways too, because that's where you get access to the entire student body.

Thanks Tru really great idea! I'm going to try them all, every single one. Got a while to do it and a lot of money to make! I'm in charge of making the team's website so I'll post the link when I can. Also, any help on how to do that would be much appreciated... !!
