Doctor Melinda Warner's (Tamara Tunie) expertise comes into play when homeopathic Doctor Gideon Hutton (guest star Martin Mull) goes on trial for the death of a young girl with AIDS.

I fell asleep so look forward to hearing what others think. I'm having a hard time staying up these days.

I found the episode to be rather fascinating. It was based around a baby who was found to be extraordinarily sick with untreated AIDS, which then lead to a doctor and a family who didn't believe in AIDS, and didn't believe that HIV was a deadly virus that lead to AIDS. They were of the mindset that HIV was a curable retrovirus.
I didn't know that people like this existed! If you think about modern science, it seems undeniable that HIV causes AIDS. And yet, we'll still, even with this virus, run into those who wish to deny treatment, such as the boy did last night.
I was quite fond of the scene where Elliot brought Tommy to see the boy in the hospital with cancer in order to convince him to get treatment. I tend to forget that there are still religious groups, like the Christian Scientists, who don't believe in medicine, only in the providence of God.
Overall, definite improvement over the last few episodes.

It was sorta interesting. I wasn't sitting on the edge of my seat but I was mildly interested.
I did enjoy seeing warner kick arse as well as Olivia. Greyleck did a decent job this time around - can't complain. Although I would like to see her hands get a little bit more dirty - know what I mean?
But over all rating: B +.

thanks Trublu and Jrbenson for filling me in. I am hoping this will be shown this weekend on NBC so I can see it. I may have to start taping this every Tuesday as my 12 hour day work schedules are killing me.

I liked that episode (Their starting to get better every week! Woo Hoo!!!) There were a few scenes that almost made me cry (eg, the part where's Tommy's mum died and he was lying on her chest saying "I love u" etc [yes I know, I get upset easily]). I like that Munch and Fin had some lines rather then it always being Liv n El - Next week I hope to see them out and about rather then always being in the Squad room. And Warner's role was awesome! I always love it when Warner really gets involved in the case and you get to see her outside her office and inside the courtroom!! The end however was a bit predictable - Tommy getting a test done. But yeh, Kim seems to be warming on me too.
I give this episode 9/10

I didn't really expect too much from this episode, but I really enjoyed it. The plot was very interesting, and it was nice to finally get an episode where the focus was on the case, not the people solving it.
I thought Kim was good in this episode, and when Elliot told her to withdraw the charges against that kid, I thought she'd do it anyway. I was surprised when she didn't.

I enjoyed this episode as well. I think we had a few more surprises in it then just showing the "perp" in the first 2 mins of the show, which always makes it more interesting. I didn't hate Kim this epi either
