Benson goes into hiding to find justice for an abused housewife, which in turn uncovers an unsolved 34-year-old murder case.

I liked the episode. It was an SVU case.
I thought Donnelly was way to hard on the woman who committed a crime 34 years ago but back then there was no battered wife defense.
It was nice to have an episode with out any Stabler family problems.
On the other hand, there was no Munch or Fin again.

I was in shook at the end of it. The look on Donnelly's face after she found out about the abortion...priceless. I've never seen her so speechless before. I really felt sorry for the woman at the end. I thought the husband would have stayed and forgiven her - considering what she went through, but then he just turned away...I couldn't believe it. And the look on Benson's face...it was like she had just lost all hope.

This ep got to me. It was really good and seeing Olivia's expression when the abused woman was murdered made me feel her shock and disbelief.
Olivia does soo much for others.

I think it was one of the best of this season. A real SVU case without anything too personal to any of the detective's (or maybe excluding Liv). It was interesting to watch Donnelly working without that judge suit. She's often harsh but still she rocks! ;D It was nice to have an episode with out any Stabler family problems. Exactly!

Overall I thought that this episode was okay. I've got to admit, though, that it was a breath of fresh air to have simply an SVU case and nothing else. When the woman was stabbed by her husband, I pretty much jumped out of my seat. I was watching it with my mom and brother and sister, and I told them that in all 10 seasons of SVU, I don't think that I'd seen anything so gross and been so freaked out, than that scene. Definetly didn't expect that. The rest of the episode, in my opinion, sort of went downhill. Donnelly was pushing the case wayy too hard, and honestly, the older woman seemed a bit too dramatic and at first I didn't believe her when she cried rape. She was a good actress, though, don't get me wrong, but it sort of got me confused then with the pregnancy thing that she pulled in the courtroom. I stand by that it was an okay episode. I would say a filler, if that. Once again, amazing to see a simply case-related episode, besides how much I may've loved Wildlife

I enjoyed the episode, I think it got a little soft near the end. I don't think the woman was convincing enough to be let off so easily. As a fugitive of 30 years she would have went right back to prison and an appeals process started. of course way too much for an hour episode...lol Overall, decent and better than some of the other episodes this season for sure.

Yes if the Stabler family is not in it, it is a plus this year.

I loved this episode, and to see Kelly Bishop and Judith Light arguing in court was just amazing. They're both amazing actresses.
The plot itself was interesting enough, though I'm feeling we're back to only Olivia or Elliot being the ones in the spotlight. I miss Munch and Fin, and I'm annoyed that they're being pushed away.

It was a good episode, I enjoyed it. There wasn't a part that I didn't like... oh, except Donnelly. I'm not really a big fan of her any more. I think the look on her face when she found about the abortion was hilarious. Kodak Moment!! Serves her right though, should have listened more then trying to be something she's not. And Kelly Bishop - I applaud her. I think she did a great job! I've loved her every since Gilmore Girls.

I loved Bishop in Gilmore Girls, too! I had really hoped to see her a little more "Emily-ish" as a defense attorney, but she was great nonetheless.

Well this episode was certainly better then Wildlife or Retro. It didn't go off track and it stuck to the SVU case, domestic violence.
I have mixed feelings for Mia: I'm glad she tried to leave her husband but her death was her fault. I'm not trying to be cruel but she made her decision to go back with him, knowing that her leave would've set him off more dangerous then before.
But it's easier said then done- just like Olivia said in PTSD.
