I was on another site the other day *gasp!* and one particular thread stood out to me. I thought that this would be a really nice way to really get to know all of you guys.
I'll go first:
What I'm most passionate about since I was a kid is Abuse against woman and children. I was one of the unlucky ones that had to experience it first hand. I would love nothing more then to find a piece land and build a big enough country style home that can house a few families. Not a shelter per se but a 'home' where women and children can heal physically, mentally, emotionally and spitritually.
I've got it all mapped out in my head:
I'd love to set up life programs for the women so they can get back on their feet and learn how to empower themselves. There'd be programs for the children so they could learn and grow to be wonderful people.
The property would have a nice big back yard for the kids to play without the mothers worrying about their safety. I'd have a couple of horses a dog or two (sorry - no cats. I'm allergic). It be far enough from the city but not too far that you'd have to take a plane.
My other 'big' passion is baking, special effects make up and my writing (fanfiction mostly). I dabble a bit in my guitar playing - but haven't touched it in a long time.

It's what I hope to do to make a living, though I do not know in what form I would like to do so. I am a poet by nature, but I also enjoy non fiction a lot as well. Ideally, I'd run my own web/writing business, not unlike something such as afterellen.com I also really enjoy working with computers and on the web. I'm trying to kick start myself with some web design work to earn a little extra money, but I really do love doing it. I also love volunteering my time with different organizations. I work with a local organization with high school students on leadership skills and prevention. I'd work for them full time if I could.

My big passion has been geriatric health care. I have been in the field for a bazillion years in a skilled nursing home setting. First as part of the nursing department and now in Therapy department administrative work.
The elderly deserves the best and I enjoy being around them and I am almost one of them..lol..
My next big passion is my 4 grandkids. They are awesome and I love every minute of time with them.
Then there is SVU and the message boards.

My passions are kinda varied, as are most of us I guess (certainly from what I've read they are anyway ;D).
A main passion of mine is music. I love to listen to all types of music. Again, it's a form of communication, and showing people our humanity through the lyrics. (Good, I'm in a sentimental mood today! ;D)
Another of my pasions are the charities I support: Cancer Research, Safe Horizon, Help The Hereos (a charity that supports our troops) and Animal ones (R.S.P.C.A etc). There's nothing more important than caring for a cause, no matter what it may be. It's what makes us human, that human compassion that we all (hopefully) posses. Sounds kinda corny, but that's the main reason why I support all charities. It's prove that people still care.
I'd guess you'd say that my love for my family (including my friends and animals!) would be a passion. I couldn't bear it if anything happened to any one of them.
Those are my main passions, the things I couldn't live without. Some are ridiculously corny, and others not so much!
