The article focuses on the Mothership, but as SVU was also affected by the decision, I figured we could still discuss here. Hey Jay, Bye Bye Scripts"'I understand the economic thinking behind it, but it is sad,' creator Dick Wolf said of NBC's decision to do away with five hours of scripted drama a week." I would agree with him. It's sad to think that there was room for 5 more shows on the network, and while I love Leno's new show, I think that NBC execs should have just let him tweak the format of The Tonight Show and continue to host it. He's an exponentially better host than Conan, and late night is one rating NBC really doesn't need to lose to David Letterman. I think that this could just dig NBC in a larger hole than it's already in.

That is beyond sad. We don't need anymore reality tv and the like. 5 hours is a lot to chop every week. I don't watch a lot of late night shows (unless it has to do with SVU). This is really, really sad

I also agree. Last week's SVU episode came in 4th with its lowest ranking in I don't know how long. Being opposite Criminal Minds is a disaster.
