THE DETECTIVES INVESTIGATE A MURDER THAT IS INTERVENED BY THE FBI BECAUSE THE CASE BECOMES TOO DANGEROUS OF AN OBSTACLE FOR THE SVU COPS. When a young couple is found murdered in the back of a padlocked truck, Detectives Olivia Benson (Mariska Hargitay) and Elliot Stabler (Chris Meloni) investigate the scene and link the male victim to a dangerous Mexican drug cartel. Benson and Stabler follow a lead to an abandoned drug den where they are surprised to see FBI Special Agent Dean Porter (guest star Vincent Spano), who is separately working on the case. Porter tries to take over the investigation, but suspicion arises and the two continue the hunt for the murderer. Following their intuition, Benson and Stabler come across shocking discoveries, which lead them to believe this case is much larger than a mere drug-related murder. Also starring: Richard Belzer (Detective John Munch), Dann Florek (Captain Donald Cragen), Ice-T (Detective Odafin Tutuola), Tamara Tunie (Dr. Melinda Warner), and B.D. Wong (Dr. George Huang).

See, I knew he was a bad, bad, BAD guy for Liv. I couldn't believe he said that to her at the end! 'Feeling's don't matter..."
I was surprised that Elliot didn't hit him at all. I would have that's for sure. He didn't even get angry when he saw FBI guy take the shot which almost killed Olivia! I was jumping in my seat!
I just wanted to reach in and give Olivia a hug. She didn't deserve that. It's so heart breaking....enter Alex Cabot! lol.

Boy, this was the best episode so far! I really REALLY liked it! Although I wished Liv's and Porter's date hadn't be a sham. I loved listen Olivia speak Spanish. Elliot was hillarious with his lines and Elliot board at the air station. I was actually glad when SVU didn't get their way at the end. Always when someone higher or bigger level tell them to stop they just keep digging. It keeps repeating itself year after a year. If Olivia and Porter would have been serious I would had been happy (they are a good couple!) but after the ending Porter is better stay away. For good. I just wanted to reach in and give Olivia a hug. She didn't deserve that. It's so heart breaking....enter Alex Cabot! lol. Lol! Couldn't agree more ;D

Does this scream Bay of Pigs to anyone? "Let's send American agents of 'peace' into Cuba and get them all killed in the process." [/history nerd]
But really, I kind of see-sawed on the episode. I could tell from the very beginning that Porter was a sham, and was the case ever really an SVU case? Perhaps it was more obvious to the audience than to the characters. I was also extremely disturbed by the fact that they seemed to let just anyone into the police station to change the phones (did they bother to check credentials? Could I walk in pretending that I have an order to change the phones?), and that would be okay?

I could tell from the very beginning that Porter was a sham. In the beginning I was holding out hope that Porter would end up a good guy even though I clearly dispise him. But it became pretty evident to me he was up to no good when he just happens to 'appear' everywhere and have all the answers from his 'informant'. What sealed the deal was at the air port when Liv was taken hostage - that shot could have easily ended up in Olivia's chest (which freaked me out to no end). If Dean ever makes another appearance, I hope Elliot kicks his sorry behind. He should have done it to begin with but I'm not complaining.

Glad you've joined us theadas!
I loved that little interchange. It waxed a bit of the SVU of old, witty interchange and such. I loved the bits with Munch as well, and the phone. He's smart, but to see him with technology is fabulous.

I did some see-sawing myself on the episode and had the same thought from the begiining about that phone guy. Seeing this much Dr. Warner was a major plus. Munch always a plus. Now on the down side..Porter. What a piece of work he is. The ending left a huge bad taste in my mouth.

I loved the bits with Munch as well, and the phone. He's smart, but to see him with technology is fabulous. lol. Remember him trying to use his cell phone a few years back? I kept thinking that Munch would mention the phone guy and a conspirisy (sp?) and everyone would finally realize he's actually right. Welcome aboard theadas! you and me both sister!

You know, I do love Dean Porter and the fact of the matter is, he was just doing his job as an FBI agent. Yeah that murdering that the CIA agent did was wrong and she needs to pay for that but Dean didn't have to tell Olivia anything. I do think that Dean did trust her, he did show up at her apt. for the date and he was happy to see her.
Other then that, the acting was very good but the storyline had me LOST I had no clue what was going on. It was a much better episode on mute.
