I thought this was a pretty good ep. I have to admit that I was really caught off guard when Kyle McLaughlin shot that kid! Never saw it coming! I know this is going to make me sound like a horrible person (I promise I'm not ), but I agreed with Kyle McLaughlin. Dr. Huang said that a lot of doctors believe there is no cure for sociopathy, so I strongly believe that kid would have continued to kill. It's a creepy thought to think that some people could be born without a conscience. Anyway, good episode. Definitely caught me off guard!

Hehe, i had a nice, lengthy response typed... and i left for dance and my sister closed the window. figures.
i was kept on my feet throughout the whole ep as well. At first i thought that it could have been Billy, but i figured they caught up with him way to early in the ep for him to be the perp, on top of the shakey id by Jake. *Speaking of, i thought Casey handled this line up much better than in Serendipity, i thought Stabler was kinda forcing him this time* I have to admit, when Jake confessed to killing Henry, i thought it was a little forced and out of place, coming out of the blue like it did. I thought the Casey/Huang dynamic was kinda cool when they went to the camp to check out Jake's abuse story. Wasnt surprised to find out that it was false, made the murder a little more realistic if he actually knew what he was doing. I wonder, if he really killed Henry because he accidentally killed the cat, or if it was for another reason that we dont hear. But when the doctor shot Jake, i was caught off my rocker. Didnt expect that, and i didnt know what verdict to expect on the murder charge either. I cant say i was leaning either way; on one hand i thought that the father had lost control and it might have fallen under extreme emotional disturbance, and at the same time i thought that he should get convicted. toughie.
OK, now i wanna talk about Elliot and Casey a little. Im still trying to figure out...Did Elliot seem a little more invested in the case than he normally is, even if the victim is a young child? And that look that Benson, Munch, and Fin gave him after the he says "well im not going to sit here with my thumb up my {butt}" Now Casey. First, the lineup, which i mentioned before. much better control on her part [and a nice outfit to go with it...] Then, when Jake got shot, her FLYING around the corner towards the gunshot instead of away, that took guts. and also trying to stop jake from bleeding to death, very courageous of her. Now, involving both Casey and Elliot, and Donnelly! The scene after Jake got shot... i was surprised that Donnelly came down so hard on Elliot, it couldnt have possibly been his fault, and after she kinda messed up the case in the first place by moving it to family court. But on the same note, Elliot's name calling was kinda out of line as well. And then Casey, the ADA, having to step in, "If you two want to blame each other that's fine, but I've got a job to do!" Classic ADA moment. They always stick everything on the ADA's.... ;D
