This was a great episode (not as good as Charisma) with a ton of surprises you might not have expected... S P O I L E R S P A C E This episode was a classic he said, she said. Even while they were doing the rape kit on Myra and the simultaneous suspect evaluation, they were telling conflicting stories to Elliot and Olivia. Right up through the end, their stories never matched, and they each had one of the detectives convinced that they were innocent. During the court scene when Myra testified, i thought it was way too predictable that she would break down, but i liked how the writers used it to give Casey a wonderful closing arguement: if she werent a rape victim, why would she have put herself through the pain of a trial? Before that, i though that her suicide attempt was also quite predictable, but again they capitalized by making the rescue situation unique, Casey and Olivia together is something we havent seen a lot of. And they did it twice in this episode! Later, when Casey was preping Olivia for court... at first i thought she was actually testifying, but then i saw Casey's coffee in her hand and figured that she wasnt prosecuting with her latte in her hand Some great scenes. And now to Elliot.. Separated from Kathy, the kids gone with her to live at her mothers.... wow this seemed to really come out of nowhere in terms of the show... however, this opened some HUGE doors for Olivia/Elliot fans, and kinda made the light just a little bit dimmer for us Casey/Olivia shippers, or Alex/Olivia shippers, since there still are some of us left ;D. And i was surprised at how it came out too, through a random defense attourney! the shocked look on Olivia's face was priceless though... Make sure you all vote for the ending to this episode at NBC.com! i personally, cant decide if he's guilty or not. That leaves me voting... not guilty. They didnt really prove it to me. Although, i thought that for the evidence she had, Casey made a very convincing arguement.

I loved this episode! It was simple, not too many crazy twists, and kept me entertained through the whole episde. The entire way through I didn't know who the heck was telling the truth...which turns out was the whole point of the episode. I like how they left the viewer with so much doubt, it made it more realistic. In the real world it's hardly ever as open and shut as the show normally concludes, this was a nice breath of fresh air.
And of course we got some new info on Stabler. I'm really curious where they're going with his character. I wonder if we'll know by the end of this season?

Im curious to see where they go with Stabler as well (as long as its not down the O/E road!). As of right now, the poll at NBC stands at 18% guilty, 67% innocent, and i guess i should assume the remaining 15% said need more evidence <since there was no number>

Shannyn Sossamon played Myra in last night's episode. Here's a link to her IMDB page, maybe you can see where you've seen her before: Click here

Are they ever going to show the conclusion? This is really annoying, not knowing. Btw, Shannyn Sossamon was also in "A Knight's Tale".

Thanks queenanne ;D
I hope they continue this in a later ep, or at least give us what the verdict was! Last time i saw the poll on NBC, the not-guilty's were prevailing.

Haha, my sisters boyfriend (who doesn't even watch the show) was watching it with us and my sister was talking right before the were about to say the verdict and he goes "SHHHHHHHHHHH!" and when it just cut off to Dick Wolf and the rest of the credits we were all like "NOOOOOOOO!" I personally think he is G-U-I-L-T-Y but my sister and her b/f weren't sure what to think. We were really pissed about that ending!

I'm writing a paper for one of my classes and I wanted to study the reaction of audience members to a specific episode of Law & Order SVU. The episode is Doubt which aired during the 6th season on 11/23/04. An episode description is below for memory recall.
When a college student claims rape and her professor claims it was consensual sex, Stabler and Benson find themselves in the middle of a he said, she said battle, trying to decide whether to believe the alleged victim, or the alleged perpetrator who claimed she liked it rough. Benson sides with the victim, whereas Stabler finds himself wondering if the accused professor is telling the truth about being innocent, especially after the woman falsely accuses Stabler of touching her inappropriately. Stabler has bigger problems on his hands; his wife, Kathy, has moved out and taken their children. At the end of the episode, the audience is left to decide who is guilty.
My question is for those who have seen the episode, what do you think the out come of the trial should be and why. I am specifically looking for why you feel that the defendant should be found guilty or not guilty, since that is the focus of my paper. Thanks in advance for your help.
