Awesome episode in my opinion! It didn't follow the usual structure for an SVU ep but I stilll thought it was extremely intense and suspensful. Too bad Casey wasn't in it though and I don't think I saw Munch either. The parallels that could be drawn between Stabler and his alias were uncanny and made me really wonder how much rage and violence were going to see from Elliot this season. He totally flipped on Huang...and I know they never really get a long but this time Elliot really just took it to B.D.! lol
Anyway, anyone else notice that Tamura Tunie has a picture credit this season?! Go ME Warner! Woohooo ;D She totally deserves it!

I was happy that they finally added Tamara Tunie to the credits, she's been appearing a lot more frequently! And the end picture with all of them... goodness it was hot! ;D The ep: I think it was creative genius from the writers that we saw last night. To put Elliot in the situation where his attitude and actions were so similar in some respects. Schenkel also played a huge role, when he was describing to Elliot just how in-character he was. For Elliot, it was more that assuming a role. He was literally taking part of himself and puting it into the character. I was glad that Elliot didnt shoot Ray, he was at least disiplined enough to take him out. But the choking... after Ray stopped fighting, that would have been enough. Elliot didnt have to near kill him. I am assuming, that Ray lived. Elliot said that he would need a doctor... but he could have done irreversable brain damage. And, I dont doubt that Ray could make a convincing argument that Elliot placed him in the situation where he could have offended again. Elliot came up with the idea for the car, looking at girls. Correct? Ray could make the arguement that he was repressing his feelings until Elliot placed him in the situation that he normally would have avoided. That said, awesome episode for Elliot. I'm thinking follow-up for this one. However... where in the World were Casey and Munch?!

An excellent episode and start to the new season! I loved how they put Stabler into the situation, and he had to hold his temper! I can imagine it must have been hard for him to pretend to be the one thing he hates more than anything else. Great episode!!

Once again, I have to say I loved this episode. But I've also found that many of my friends and people on other sites did not like this ep. Has anyone else noticed this?
I guess I can kinda see their point though. I loved the intensity of the storyline (I mean watching that girl being thrown on the matress and believe she was going to be raped was def hard to watch) but this ep didn't have any other storylines or twists that are common on SVU. Also, "Demons" obviously had a Stabler-centered plot. I think overall it was great, but maybe they should have shown "Demons" later on in the season and shown an episode that dealt with more of the cast instead for the premiere. Just a thought...

A very good point missinCABOT. It may not have been in the show's best interest to premier with an ep that was not only missing two main characters, plus another one in the credits, but also that only featured one character. It might have been better suited for later in the season.

Good evening girls, Hello to you, girls! It's the Byrdman just coming at you on this wonderful Friday night, I hope that you girls are all rocking and rolling and that you are winding down this great week smoothly, just like I am! Yes, I saw this ep last night (sorry, I've been such a busy boy this past week!), and I was impressed. Elliot gave a stunning performance, very terrible, but it was for a purpose. First of all, I agree with Trublu totally - where was Casey and Munch? Munch is still in the credits, right? I thought he was, but I could not remember. I hope he was. I just missed them for the opening ep, you would think that they would both be in it. Oh well, there's a whole season to go, right? Plus, I remember Robert Patrick (Ray, the rapist). He was the T-1000 in Terminator 2. He looked very different back then (91, I think it was?). But his character was terrible, as are all serial rapists. Plus, I can understand Elliot's motivation in wanting to act like one to catch the perp, but it just seemed a little off. Maybe I am off here (my inexperience with the series is showing too), but have they ever devoted an entire episode to one of the detectives going undercover? It was new to me, and I can grow to like it, it was just new to me, you know? Yes, I will agree with missinCABOT. That poor girl who Ray got and tied up, and then they acted like they were going to rape her. That was awful, and thank goodness it did not happen. But they got the bad guy, and that is what counts. I hope Elliot is not too messed up by what Ray said. Ray is messed up, and Elliot should not pay any attention to what he has to say. It's like in the interrogation room, Ray was asking Fin: "you the same man you were 20 years ago?" And Fin: "this ain't about me." But yes, I hope this is another great start to another great year of SVU, girls! I hope that you all enjoyed this ep, and let's keep it rocking for another great season! See ya, girls!
