Alright, for my 1st post I present a long-winded thing why it makes sense that Olivia will be the one that gets pregnant, but why it could also be Kathy, and then why it could be Casey, so enjoy, lol...

1) Well, it's obvious if in real life she wants another kid to do it now. People do that all the time, have kids close together, and the only reason it's more, I'd guess you say on our minds, is because of the fact it is a popular actress, who has left on maternity leave before. (Another rarity in Hollywood.)
2) This time the maternity leave/explaining it on TV would be different. Last time they didn't want to acknowledge the real life circumstance, and thus all the storylines to hide it were made. This time though, if it's happening on the series too, and it's with another character, well they could keep her on the show. Out in the field part-time, at her desk at the precint part-time. Nonetheless, moves would be easy to explain on the show with the pregnancy and all.
3) Don't rule out 2 other factors in this:
1 - They are bringing in a new full-time character next year in Adam Beach as Chester Lake (Ugh...Lol...). That gives them an extra person in case Olivia has to leave part of the time off the show, or just someone else to work with Elliot in general when she can't.
2 - Mariska's and Chris's contracts. They signed on for 2 more seasons, for next year and the year after that. Now, while I'm not saying it's guaranteed, but think about this: NBC has been complaining about ratings on the L&O series, 10 yrs. (2 seasons from now) is a good run for a show, also how many storylines can be written that are THAT different, and how long is everyone in general from the writers to the other actors to Mariska and Chris, really going to continue to want to do this? 10 yrs. would seem to be a really solid run, and wouldn't be a bad stopping point for NBC and all parties involved. (It's not what I want, lol, but plausible...) A pregnancy between these two would give (almost) everyone what they wanted before the show ends, and also the pregnancy storyline could last this entire season, and that could help them out emmensely, before going on to next year.

1) Now the reasons being for this is that supposedly, we think, Elliot was trying to get back involved with her. Now, of course we can think that, but if he got with Olivia, well that would certainly be a twist. The thing I took from the TV Guide thing was 2 things:
1 - He said it would be a huge twist on the show. Which makes me think it won't be her, cause really, would we be suprised if she got pregnant? Sure. A huge twist? Barely. We don't expect Elliot and Olivia to get together, so if Elliot got back together with his ex-wife and she got pregnant...that's really not that shocking.
2 - He did say at the end though that those clamoring for a Olivia/Elliot hookup would have a special interest in it. That's a typical dramactic ploy to bring in viewers who don't regularly use their brains, lol. Usually people do that and you may think, "Oh, wow, they are finally get together!", which isn't the case, but they got you to tune in to find out. While it's possible he was hinting towards a Olivia/Elliot hookup, it makes me think, by him saying that, he wasn't. Then it would make sense for it to be with Kathy. Cause while I guess Olivia could get pregnant from some random man, it just doesn't seem likely for her character.

1) This is the simplest. It makes sense if they want to go with a pregnancy bombshell, but don't want it to cause a whole shift in the show. I would give 3 possibilities as to who she could get pregnant from:
1 - Some person that's not a regular, maybe been on the show a few times, if at all, like another lawyer or something like that....
2 - Elliot - Hey, you may not think so, but wouldn't that be of interest to those clamoring for a Olivia/Elliot relationship? Wouldn't it also be a huge twist for the show? It could also give them a potential love triangle storyline with Olivia/Elliot/Casey ala "The Office" (another NBC show) w/ Pam/Jim/Karen. I don't think it's likely, but I don't think you can write it off completely.
3 - Chester Lake - It makes sense as they do have some history. If you remember, last time he was on he asked Casey out on a date (she said she was an expensive date, etc...), and since he's going to be a full-time character next year, it would make a lot of sense.
So it could go several ways, I don't know who my money is on yet...Maybe Kathy, but with another guy? So Elliot feels like he should be involved, but can still, later, be with Olivia...I don't know...I definitely have way to much time on my hands, lol...Enjoy all, and take care of yourselves. Later.
