Who of course was Mariska's mom. For those of you who don't know, Mariska and her siblings were in the car crash that killed their mother, but they escaped with minor injuries.
Q: One of my all-time favorite actresses was Jayne Mansfield. I have a few questions about her I’m hoping you can answer. Any truth to the rumors about her being decapitated? How many children did she have? Where was she buried?
A: Let’s clear up the long-standing rumor about Jayne Mansfield being decapitated.
Although still a matter of debate, depending on what you think the definition of decapitation is, she was not decapitated, but rather “scalped” in the horrible car accident that killed her, Ronnie Harrison, the car’s driver; Sam Brody, her boyfriend; and a dog. Her three small children escaped the accident with minor injuries.
The rumor apparently began when photos of the accident scene surfaced and Ms. Mansfield’s wig was seen among the wreckage, thus triggering the thought that it was actually her head instead of just the wig.
Ms. Mansfield had five children. Jayne Marie Mansfield was born to Ms. Mansfield and her husband, Paul Mansfield, in 1950; Mickey Hargitay Jr. was born in 1958, Zoltan Hargitay in 1960, and actress Mariska Hargitay, of “Law and Order SVU,” was born in 1964 to Ms. Mansfield and husband, Mickey Hargitay; and Tony Cimber, born in 1965, to Ms. Mansfield and husband, Matt Cimber. Ms. Mansfield, a native Pennsylvanian, was born in Bryn Mawr, Montgomery County, and was buried in Fairview Cemetery, Pen Argyl, Northampton County.
