So, that mysterious guy who does the opening, he does have a name right? Or is he an alien from some distant galaxy?

Yes! His name is Steven Zirnkilton. He does the narration for ToS and CI. And he's usually uncredited. Poor guy!

Another underdog to add to the list... Why can't they give the underdogs a little more credit or in some cases, more screen time?

They should at least add him to the credits. I mean, the guys voice is featured in every episode. I'm dork enough that I'm going to count: ToS-371 SVU-163 CI-111 TBJ-13 For a whopping total of 658 episodes! And you think they would credit him in ONE. (An OT tidbit: SVU has only aired the same number of episodes in two consecutive seasons, 4 and 5, with 25 episodes each. CI has never done this. However, ToS aired exactly 22 episodes in seasons 1-4, 23 episodes in seasons 5-7, 24 episodes in seasons 8-15, and suddenly back down to 22 episodes for their 16th season. Also interesting is that this year, SVU and CI aired one less episode than last year, and ToS aired 2 less.)

Poor guy. He should like guest star in episodes or something. People tend to overlook the simplest things.

And wouldn't the ultimate irony be that he become extremely famous for that one guest spot? He would have voiced those 658 episodes, yet one physical appearance could make him famous!

*Cough* TOS is the mothership. (The Original Series). I'll add TBJ in there though! So that's what it meant!!! I thought it was another series. And what would take the cake is he does become famous on CSI. SVU is competing with them on Tuesday nights.
