I was the first one up this morning when I saw it on the news. When my mom woke up I told her. She was so suprised. She kept asking me, 'are you sure?'
It doesn't really surpise me - I knew he had cancer. But it's still sad to hear.

Massachusetts is very much mourning this loss today. Our "liberal lion" was definitely a force to be reckoned with in the Senate, and was for change and equality since the 60s, long before anyone else was.

I knew when he did not attend his sister Eunice's funeral that it looked very grim. This is the first time in my memory that one of the Kennedy brothers is not in the Senate. May he rest in peace. He and his family suffered much.....

It was very moving to watch all the people that were so affected by him celebrate his life. It was fitting too that the memorial was held in the library that he helped build to honor his brothers, and now it was finally his turn to be honored.

I was extremely moved by Caroline Kennedy. I am old enough to remember her father JFK. What a tribute she paid to her uncle.

I watched part of the funeral and then the burial and it saddened me to know that I saw all 3 brothers buried in my lifetime,
