This is an issue that is really becoming prevalent all over television, but since upfronts and now into the contract season, CBS is making a lot of decisions that are leaving me (and many others) scratching our heads at the blatant pattern. The facts, before I go any farther: 1. CBS cancelled two veteran shows with female leads (Ghost Whisperer and Cold Case). While it was suspected that they might be headed out the door (Cold Case was expected, Ghost Whisperer more of a surprise), it was still surprising that they cancelled these two shows at once, and as far as I can tell, with no plans for replacing the leading ladies in other shows. 2. They "chose not to renew" AJ Cook's contract on Criminal Minds, and are giving Paget Brewster a half a season on the same show (she has stated on her twitter that she'll be leaving after this). Their spinoff for "Criminal Minds" has a cast made up of mostly men. What do you think? I'm disturbed enough by the news to see a pattern here.

Yes there is defintely a pattern and it makes no sense. I am a big believer that while TV should entertain, it should also reflect the realities of life and women in any job represent way more of the population than is being portrayed.
I travel to 4 sites now for work and 3 of the 4 are headed by women.
Why this is happening now is something I can't understand.
