Yes, he is divorced. I don't know the specifics, but it was in season 6 that they mention it in.

I'm not sure he is divorced yet or not. In season seven after he was shot he told Olivia he had the papers but had not signed them yet. And then for his penance the priest told him to call his wife, and all this happened in season seven. I'm hoping that they aren't and are going to get back together.

I keep hoping they will get back together myself. A normal Stabler again would be a joy ;D

I'm glad there are some of us that want them back together. I've been watching this show from day one and that is one of the things I liked about this show. They had a variety of main characters. A married man with a family to go home to every night (Elliot), a single woman who dates several men (Olivia), a man that was divorced several times with no kids, (that we know of)(Munch), , a man that is divorced with a son (Fin), and a man that is a widower (Cragen). Why can't they leave it that way, not every cop gets divorced or has an affair. I'm sure there are several out there who have been married for 20+ years and intend to stay that way.

You've brought up a point that mant of us here have expressed here. I wanted Stabler to stay together, but nooooo. He goes and leaves his wife. I'm positive though that he did say something about it season 6 and he is divorced because there was one episode where it was his weekend with his kids sometime back in February.

WELL SAID !!!!!!!!!!!!!! I have been there since day 1 too and agree with you 100%..In fact I have been with The L&O Franchise since the pilot of THE MOTHERSHIP in 1990. And have learned that Mr. Wolf can go off the story line deep end at times and thats what he has done with Elliot

I HOPE THIS DIVORCE CAN BE UNDONE. When the Priest told Elliot to call his wife I clapped .. El needs to do it in the next season

Just because they said it was Elliot's weekend with the kids does not mean they were divorced. Kathy and Elliot were probably just taking turns with them. She had told him in an episode awhile back that he was a good father so she probably wasn't trying to keep them from him.
