Well then, here's some very interesting information! New ADA?While I'm all for variation, I'm for the variation type that calls for : a.) An involved ADA (more than 1 minute per episode). b.) Young and female. Let me explain letter b. It's not that I have anything against older ADAs, male ADAs, or both together. However. SVU has no young, female characters. (That isn't saying that Mariska isn't young & lovely. ) SVU has one regular female character, period, in Mariska. The other regular characters are all male, and everyone pretty much is in their 40s. We need to have that young kick added to the squad (young people can be successful too), and we need a female to balance out the cast. I will be quite sore if the new ADA is not female, or if there is not a considerable compensation among the rest of the cast in the form of another regular cast member.

male ADAs don't seem to last on any of the Law and Order's aside from Sam but whatever!

male ADAs don't seem to last on any of the Law and Order's aside from Sam but whatever! Criminal Intent had Ron Carver for a long time before he left the show; now they don't have an ADA at all. But, they have two female leads to balance out their two male leads.

I'm going with you one the female part, Tru. I'm not so sure about the 'young' part though - I mean, look what happened with Greylek. But if I were a victim, I'd much rather have a female ADA who, like Olivia, is willing to go to the mat for me. I'd feel much more safer with a female ADA for obvious reasons - not that there is anything wrong with a male ADA! But you'd have to look at it from a victims perspective - who would you rather see alone with you in a room? An impossing male or a female that can probably relate much more?

I'm going to write a letter to NBC about this, in fact. I will post it so that anyone interested in putting their username to it as well can consider it.

SVU definitely has become all male except for Mariska and Melinda(who isn't getting much air time, sadly). I actually have no problem with a male ADA . I loved Richard Brooks as ADA Paul Robinette on the Mothership in 1990-93. He was a young black male who brought alot to the role. (He is also a hometown boy Cleveland, Oh) BUT in a franchise that Wolf has built on diversity, the lack of female characters is astounding. I wonder what big names are in the running?

I definatley think a young female ADA would work better. Maybe it's because we've always had a female ADA, or maybe it is because of the lack of female characters. Considering the type of crimes that happen in this show, surely having a female prosecuting would make a female victim feel more secure?
Although they could try out a partnership ADA team, young women, young guy? Not sure that would work though, plus Wolf seems to lack his character as it is, so adding 2 new characters is asking for trouble, really.
But yeah, Trublu, if you do write the letter, feel free to add my name to the bottom. I agree with you, a young female lead would balance out the older male ratio slightly. Although we have Warner as well as a female character, don't we?

July 8, 2009 www.tvguide.com/News/MegaBuzz-Bones-CSI-1007816.aspxI wish Stephanie March would return to SVU for all the episodes! — Denise
Mickey: You're not alone, Denise! So maybe this will be good news. After Emmy winner Christine Lahti (not exactly a slacker in the acting department either) fills in for four season-opening episodes, I'm hearing that March's 10 episodes will not necessarily be sequential. In other words, she could be around all season, but just trading off with the new maybe-older-male ADA.

That's better then not seeing her at all! At least if she's ever stuck in traffic *cough* with olivia *cough* she have a back up on hand.

I hope the storylines are going to be good next season. Sometimes I worry that the emphasis on high profile guest stars takes away from the show,

Sometimes I worry that the emphasis on high profile guest stars takes away from the show, i love EM but i agree on that Patti! the fact that they keep bringing in these awesome names as of late is taking away from the awesome stories they used to tell!

Oh, I do love Eric McCormick, though. I don't disagree with everyone's comments, though. The producers/writers are missing the most important part of the show here. I miss the times when the biz was about producing quality, not ratings.

The networks are trying to make you forget how bad the story is by bringing in the big names. Which is sad. I'm hopeing that this season has more then one good story.
