Production Blog updated 10/8. They are mostly pix of the new sets. www.nbc.com/Law_and_Order_Special_Victims_Unit/production-blog/By NBC Community Team on October 8, 2009 6:41 PM Thoughts about last night's episode? Some answers to last week's questions: 1) The first photo is a TV Studio Set we built inside our hospital set. Next time you see us in a hospital pay close attention to the walls, they are the same. 2) That apartment belongs to Olivia Benson. Why are we in there? Tune in to "Spooked" airing on 11/4 to find out! While we are on the topic of sets, here at the SVU Stages we are trying to keep things fresh. So the next new or at least improved set is the Morgue. This morning is the first time we will be filming in it and I snapped some photos before the shooting crew got in there. You all are the first to see it. Check it out: Pics follow: The apartment does belong to Liv!

Production Blog was updated 10/21/09. www.nbc.com/Law_and_Order_Special_Victims_Unit/production-blog/#We've just started shooting Episode 9, so the season is flying along. Let's get to some of your questions: "Cahilla" asked: Was Mariska slapped for real when shooting scenes in Smut and Unstable? For her shot angle she was, but under the supervision of our stunt coordinator, who taught the actor slapping her how to make it look like a harder slap then it really is. Needless to say nobody got hurt! "Kazinoz" asked: When does shooting of season 11 finish? Right now we wrap up our 22 episode Season 11 in mid-April. "Neo66" asked How can that be Olivia's pad, she seems like a downtown girl and that place is Upper Eastside? Believe it or not, Benson's apartment has been established as being on West 89th Street. So it's neither Downtown nor Upper East Side. "Juiz_cita" asked: "What's happening with Novak?" Casey Novak was disbarred for at least a year. For those of you keeping track, there are some changes in our air date order: Spooked airs 10/28, Users airs 11/4, Turmoil airs 11/11, Perverted airs 11/18, and Anchor airs 12/2 Tonight's episode features Oscar-nominee, Rosie Perez and it's the return of (drum roll.....) Stephanie March. So for all of you holding your breathe waiting, it's time to exhale. Reminders: Hit us up on twitter. @nbcsvu is the show's twitter, @nealbaer is our showrunner and @svumac is my production twitter!

Production Blog was updated 10/30/09. It's mostly more set pics but they also stated that they have just started filming PERVERTED and that ANCHOR has been pushed back another week to 12/9. Just another way to irk Fin fans. I also wonder if there will be no new SVU for 2 weeks since there is not a new episode on 11/25 either. www.nbc.com/Law_and_Order_Special_Victims_Unit/production-blog/

Production Blog was updated 12/3/09. Hope Everyone Had a Nice ThanksgivingBy NBC Community Team on December 3, 2009 9:47 AM Hope everyone had a nice Thanksgiving. Sorry it's been quiet but we're back on the air next Wednesday. During the down week, let me get to some questions. Cutiepie11794 asked: What kind of watch Mariska wear's on the show? Seen below, it's a Breitling Swiss Chrono Graph watch. Cahilla asked: Do the writers and directors sometimes adapt the episode, add a few last minute lines, direct the scene differently etc if the actors are visible and audible sick, so it come across like it is the character who is sick and not them? That's a great question. Writers and directors are always making last minute adjustments on set. Sometimes it's as simple as a line adjustment, sometimes it graphics in the Media Room, sometimes it a costume/make-up/hair adjustment. But more directly to your question, I don't think it's unheard of to change a "character's" storyline for an episode slightly because the actor in real life is sick, however I don't remember us doing that anytime in the recent past. In "Perverted" Mariska wasn't sick in real life. That was acting, make-up and hair that made her look sick. Yuliana asked: Does detectives in real life ever get promoted? I'm sure they do. An interesting fact for cops/detectives who work in the actual Special Victims Departments: they usually only last in that department for under 3 years simply because it's so hard to handle the cases dealing with kids and rape victims, etc. There have been some promotions on our show. For one, if you remember Donnelly (played by Judith Light) was originally a lawyer and is now a judge. dbtalk1950 asked: I am trying to get the name of the drug Dr.Wong used in "Users" to help get the teen off of junk. The name of the drug is Ibogaine. Ok everyone; make sure to tune in at 9pm on 12/9 (that's next Wednesday) for "Anchor". p.s. follow me on twitter @svumac, and follow our showrunner @nealbaer www.nbc.com/Law_and_Order_Special_Victims_Unit/production-blog/

Production Blog was updated 12/9. More questions. www.nbc.com/Law_and_Order_Special_Victims_Unit/production-blog/New episode tonight!!!By SVUMac on December 9, 2009 5:52 PM New episode tonight!!! Hit me up with some thoughts/opinions after the show. I'm on set today & not really near a computer, but I don't want to leave you hanging, so I got to this week's questions you had.... Lawyergirl191 asked: Will Elliot get divorced? and then will Elliot and Olivia ever hook up? and last, will she ever have a baby? Unfortunately, these are things that you are just going to have to keep watching to find out. For any type of insight into these questions, reach out to @nealbaer on Twitter, he holds the master plan in his mind! KylinS asked: Will Elliot ever find out about Olivia and what Harris did to her in the basement? The detectives know she was sexually assaulted, she has openly said that to victims and other detectives in SVU since that episode. I think her telling anyone EXACTLY what happened in that basement is left for you as an audience to determine. Just like how we ended the episode "Doubt" before reading the verdict, we like for you as an audience to form your opinion what happened. Amberbaby asked: I was wondering, is there any chance EVER that Novak will be back? Considering she was disbarred for a time frame not completely fired? Never say never with SVU! Tonight's episode "Anchor" we shot back in September, so if you notice it looking a little nicer outside, now you know why!

New Blog Jan 6th www.nbc.com/Law_and_Order_Special_Victims_Unit/production-blog/HAPPY NEW YEAR EVERYONE! By SVUMac on January 6, 2010 8:55 PM As of Monday we are back to work and moving along. We are currently shooting Episode 14 "P.C." with Kathy Griffin, and prepping Episode 15 "Savior," which will star Mischa Barton. Also, if you haven't heard, Sharon Stone will be joining us later this season as a former cop turner D.A. So tell all your friends!!! Wednesdays, 9PM! So there was a last minute schedule change. Here's the current remaining airing schedule for Season 11: 1/6 (Tonight) "Quickie" 1/13 "Shadow" 2/3 "Confidential" 2/10 "P.C." 3/3 "Savior" 3/10 Episode 16 3/17 Episode 17 3/24 Episode 18 4/21 Episode 19 4/28 Episode 20 5/5 Episode 21 5/12 Episode 22 Some questions answered: YMARY asked: "I was wondering who actually names the episodes and how come some episodes don't have names."The writer of the specific episode comes up with the name and our showrunner Neal Baer approves it. The names are always derived from something (story-wise) related to the actual episode. (Episodes 16-22 haven't been named yet, but they will once we start prepping them). Good question, keep them coming. TCLIFFORD1 asked: "Does SVU or any of the Law and Order series accept open submission for writing episodes or do they have a writing staff?"Sorry, we do not. Our show has a full writing staff. All of them are members of The Writer's Guild of America. Since the follow-up question may be how do you join the WGA, here's a link. Enjoy tonight's episode, sorry we've been away for so long!
